Hi,

Just want to share my experience.

I applied for a TRV for my parents from Chandigarh Visa office in late May. My parents got the visa and I am very thankful for that but I don't know why CIC gave the visa for 1 year only :o .

Its funny as it is a multiple entry for 1 year... I mean how many times they will go and come back in one year...

I was hoping for 10 years like every other case is getting these days even the parents that are coming for graduations etc... they get 10 years multiple entry...

I was so put off by this as getting a visa from Chandigarh is a pain... and one really really needs to lucky to get a TRV..

The processing time was 5 days though :D

I will apply super visa next time. Nail biting starts today :-X

Good luck all.

Sad to hear that.

I requested 5 days single entry for my parents earlier, they got 3 year multiple stamped.

its all luck and totally depends on the visa officer.

when is the expiration date of the passport? for multiple entry, visa is valid until passport expiration date and cannot go beyond that period.

The expiration of passport was 8 years from now. The visa expiration is now 1 year.. :( I have no idea why did they do this..

Your paperwork wasn't as solid as other cases. It is that simple. The officer evaluates how long will the circumstances that got an approval can be mantained for. The officer's assesment was 1 year.

Look it on the bright side, they could have easily declined the TRV, and with one TRV the others are easier to get ;D

Yeah i know.. will try to make the best of the situation..

BTW, my situation is really good now.. me and my husband both make 100k+ a year (individually) and no dependents...funny how they predict things...

It is not all about money, but regardless as you said, NOW... so it was not ALWAYS. Seems the officer got it right.

Good luck

lets hope for the 10 year visa.

keep us posted on your exp.
