I came in Canada in 2006 with student visa. Now I have a work permit in Quebec, Canada. I married in 2010 and applied for permanent residence with my wife. But now we want to get divorced. My wife doesn't want the residency in Canada. How do I inform the immigration that we are not together? If I inform Canadian immigration that my relationship is over, will it anyhow affect my permanent residence file?

It's been very stressful for me. I look forward to some answers. Thank you.

As you are posting under the Family Class Sponsorship section of the forum, I assume that she is currently sponsoring you for PR? You also say that you have a work permit, which makes me believe that you are not currently landed as a PR?

IF these two assumptions are correct, she must withdraw the sponsorship application and you will not be able to become a PR as a member of the Family Class.

If they are NOT correct, please explain your situation in more detail with dates and actions taken.

I have applied as QC provincial nominee class with family after having CSQ for both me and her. I did not apply in Family Class. Neither me nor her have sponsored any of us. I live here as a skilled worker with work permit and she never came to Canada. I applied for PR together with her. Now we want divorce.

Therefore, is it possible to withdraw her name from the application without affecting or slowing down my PR process?

Really appreciate your time. Waiting for your reply.

It doesn't matter what the effect is. If you are divorcing, you MUST remove her from your PR application as a dependant. If you don't, the application will be treated as misrepresentation because you will have changed your circumstances without updating CIC.

Now that you have provided better details about your situation. You would have to inform CIC of removing your wife from PR process application. Not sure what the procedure is but you do need to inform CIC of the changes.

Since you are coming in as a skill worker PR program. This thread is not the right place to ask this question as this thread deals with family sponsorship. You are better off getting a better response at an appropriate thread location.
