Dears,

I am a Bachelor In Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University,Karnataka, India. I have around 2 years of experience in Projects, Product Development and Production Engineer.
I was thinking of applying for a PR (Permanent Residence) in Canada through Express Visa Entry.

Can anyone please guide me as -
1. How is the job scenario in Canada for me ?
2. What will be the average salary that I can expect ?
3. What are the job opportunities for an engineer like me with around 2 years of work experience. ( 1 year in FMCD industry and 1 year in Auto mobile component manufacturing industry)

Will be waiting for your revert.

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards

You may wish to check out the Job Bank. It has information on the wages, job listings, future projections, etc.

Many Thanks for the revert :)

I checked the link that you shared and its very useful, but the only confusion that is arising in my mind is - Since I don't have any Canadian work experience, so will the employers in Canada hire me !!

Can you please guide me through this !!

Best Regards

As per my knowledge and understanding employers in Canada will hire you based on your skillset and that requirement in canada. It has got nothing to do with canadian experience.

More than 80% of people who apply usually dont have canadian experience including me .So just relax :D

Whether or not employers will hire you is largely a function of you. With a work permit, it's a lot of work for the employer. As a PR, hiring you is the same as hiring a citizen. How well do you interview, how skilled are you, what kind of salary are you talking?

As an example, I'm a developer with experience going back quite some time. I've been selling software commercially for nearly 20 years. It took me about a week of searching to find a job. I'm limited to part-time right now as a student, but they are more than willing to hire me full-time if I can legally work full-time. I know how to put together a good resume, I'm here locally (which makes interviews easier), and I'm willing to charge Canadian labour rates (which are about half of what I would make in New York City or San Francisco. My employer here was looking for someone for 90 days before I applied, and was desperate for qualified people.

Someone with less experience, who has linguistic barriers, and who is in an industry with lower barriers to entry is going to have a harder time. Much of that depends on you. Permanent residency unlocks many doors, but you still have to be the one to walk through them.

Dear Roopak and Keteg,

Thanks for the revert :)

Can you please guide me as in choosing the right province in Canada, so that my chances of getting jobs relevant to my sector (manufacturing sector) can be easier.

Also, Roopak can you please kindly share with me as for how long you are there in Canada and how long it took for you to get a job suiting your profile !!

Will be waiting for your revert.

Thank you in advance.

best Regards

I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to advise you on a suitable province for your career, but one bit of advice I can offer is that where you're saying 'revert' you actually mean 'response', just a tip since you'll want to score well on your IELTS exam (If you'd be taking an English test instead of French) ;)

The right province is the one that meets your needs. I'm in BC. I have my studies in BC. I have my work in BC. If I could get P/R for doing so, I'd move to Northwest Territories tomorrow (and telecommute for work). Nobody can tell you where you will succeed.
