How would i know if my SIN application has been rejected? Do I have to wait for a letter in the post?
Thank u let me see for next two weeksIRCC doesn't process SIN applications, its Service Canada you would need to call. But due to the current situation, just wait it out and you should get it soon in the mail.
Sorry about the late reply. As I mentioned earlier, I was able to get an appointment. Turns out the the ServiceCanada is now also accepting walkins but its limited to 5 people at a time.Hey @desi_me_rollin - I tried to get an appointment and filled up the form. Got a call from Service Canada the next day and they told me to apply online saying that the Service Canada centers are open but new SIN applications are being accepted only online/via mail. I will be curious to know how is your experience tomorrow. Please keep us posted.
Pls advise the document presented in person.I submitted an appointment request through https://eservices.canada.ca/en/service/
Just ticked "require appointment" and "information" next to SIN and explained my situation in the message. They called me back 2 days later and booked me in.
Can u pls advise the list of docs u presented there? forI submitted a request in the eservices site and received a call. The agent just told me which centers are open in GTA and did not set any appointment.
I reached the center in Kilpling avenue at 08:00 AM and saw that there was a big line up already in front of the office which opened at 08:30 AM. I reached my turn after about 5 hours in the line and got my SIN in 10 mins at the counter.
They are only providing SIN to people who are already working or have job offers. I would advise those visiting the center for SIN to be prepared for long lines and carry water/cap/umbrella/chairs to make their wait comfortable.
I showed them my passport and COPR client copy. I also carried with me my job offer letter and address proof but agent did not ask me to show themCan u pls advise the list of docs u presented there? for
- a valid primary document that proves your identity and legal status in Canada; and
- a valid secondary document to confirm your identity
Thanks for replying! How do you know that they are only accepting people with valid job offers?I showed them my passport and COPR client copy. I also carried with me my job offer letter and address proof but agent did not ask me to show them
There are security agents at the Service Canada office who will inform you that only candidates who have job offers will be allowed to get the SIN in person. Thanks for replying! How do you know that they are only accepting people with valid job offers?
