The bill has not yet been fully passed. I think the final official announcement is likely to be in the gazette today. The visa offices can't stop work whilst they wait for Kenney to officially announce that the bill has passed its final stage, urgo SELDEC 0 at that stage will still get updated form request etc.

Please choose the right words... it is not totally "BANNED" as you may term it...
and absolutely... it is not "GAME IS OVER"... sometimes, instead of us cheering up one another,
we make a scene, and get to be the first to alarm everyone...

why not keep a POSITIVE VIEW... if it is for us, it will BE FOR US...

THEY DID NOT SAY STOP FOREVER...
they just announced that they need some time to revise things for the betterment of Canada...
and they will resume JANUARY 2013... its stated clear...

let's keep ourselves busy, and move on with our lives...
JANUARY 2013 will just come, even before we knew it... relax everyone...

i know it will come in the best time...
there maybe major changes... so let us just pray that we can catch up to it...

If you all noticed, the news release in CIC included the following:

"The pause will allow CIC to make important changes to its economic immigration programs before accepting more applications. This is an important step in moving towards a faster, more flexible immigration system... moving towards a new application management system, to develop a pool of skilled workers who arrive in Canada ready to begin employment."

If any of you has checked out the new (July 2012 onwards) Australian Immigration process for Skilled Workers you will notice that the above excerpt describes exactly what's in place in Australia now, therefore if you want to look at what might (with very high probability) be the new Canadian Skilled Worker program, check Australian Immigration for a template.

i guess you are guys right just wait and hope, not worried about ILTES score but since i will be 40 yo this august any changes in age criteria will be the end of road for me

When they resume fsw again.Officially it says early 2013 but my consultant told me its 1 jan.Any thoughts on that

All this thing clearly indicates that they are squeezing the opportunities as Australia did.
or someone said before that the road they made narrower for people from certain part of the globe.

Australian immigration is very complicated yet they complete their process very fast as it is completed in 6-9 months. If Canadians followed their formate then they will took much more time even 2-3 years.

Still the game is not over....its just a matter of time to apply.Its finally depend upon the person's determination to wait & apply.

This time of 6 months will be benefit those who have still to gather the documents to apply.

Note: As of July 1, 2012, CIC has temporarily stopped accepting applications for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP). This temporary pause does not apply to those with a qualifying job offer or applying under the PhD stream. We will likely start accepting applications again when the revised FSWP selection criteria take effect. Proposed FSWP changes should come into force in early 2013.


I worked so hard to get all the documents in place and they advise this now! So very dissapointed.

I think no other option except the wait.
So forget the immigration and then again see it in 2013. Its the easy way to pass the time..
