Hi folks,

I called CIC today and asked them if my app reached CPC Ottawa? The agent said it was received today. Does this vo send AOR's? If so when should I expect it? If not when to expect MR? I also added my wife to my application so I am just curious to know if this will delay the process?

So I just called again and I was told that as of today my file is showing in process at Ottawa. I was told in the past that file transfer began on January 30th. I know Ottawa does not send AORs but since the CIC agents could now see that the file is in process there, could it be an acknowledgement of receipt? It seems that the agents have access to what is similar to GCMS files. I mean for those without an old UCI number who were waiting on their PER in the past, they were able to get it by telephone and that only happened after their file was checked and entered in the system. I'm going to apply the same logic to AOR.

If this is really the case why is it that most late August and early to mid September's applicants are still waiting for MR. Are you suggesting they have similar history or is it a coincidence based on your analogy? The truth is that we can never predict Ottawa, so the best advice is to hang on, wait patiently and hope for the best. We will all reach the same goal, while some will reach theirs faster, others might get there much slower, but we shall all get there. Have fun while waiting the world is not yours.

I have no idea how you understood this from what I said. Even though we don't know for sure how CIC or any VO works, we can certainly look at the trends and form some sort of rational opinion. After all that's one of the reasons why this forum is so helpful. And it doesn't hurt that some predictability provides some comfort while waiting.

Trying to figure out how they work is not exclusive of waiting and hoping. We can do both at the same time.

Ottawa sends MR directly without AOR. It usually takes a month or two from PER to get MR from Ottawa. But if you just added your wife, you should expect some delay.

The opening of file for review is generally first in first out. [size=10pt]BUT, the COMPLETION time of all the required checks and reviews varies for each applicant based on their history.[/size] Hence, MR and PPR aren't always first-come-first serve since those depend on how long it takes for all the checks to be complete for each applicant.

NO , actually i don't know a single case received an AOR from Ottawa!

A CIO agent told you that? Once the file gets transferred to a VO, CIO DOES NOT send any mail/email. And once file is transferred, CIO can't give you information about your file since it's not there anymore. So the person is probably giving you wrong information (not uncommon). An AOR is received from VO and not CIO, so I have no idea what letter the agent is talking about.

Ottawa has never issued AOR to applicants in this forum.

Need help. For those who are familiar with Toronto, Can you please guide which ares are good for family to live? One of my friend is moving to Toronto in March and he wants to do apartment hunting based on location. his budget is $1500 - $2000 for 2 or 3 Bedroom apartment possibly in High rise buildings.
