Hello everyone,

I have a question since I do not have knowledge about this, do we get MRO request by mail or email? what is the exact procedure between MRO and PER?

I have received my PER today and I am leaving for back home for a month in few days, so I am a bit worried. My office address is my mailing address.

Thank you.

If PER arrived as email it means that all further communication will follow this pattern. MR delays have increased and it is unlikely that you will receive it within a month.

Thanks lpmc2017 and Pharm.

It is already active in the USPS website but there it says it still in canada while on the Canada post site it says it left canada ... go figure! It hasn't changed status since yesterday but hope to see a status update anytime today. Expected delivery is tomorrow according to the system.

Thanks guys!

Hello everyone! I have a wonderful news. We became Permanent Residents of Canada today! The landing procedure was done at a local CIC office in Ottawa. No appointment was required as this location has drop in landing hours on a couple Tuesdays of each month (odd dates). Hours are at 10 am and at 1 pm. The process went very fast and smoothly. We were asked for our COPR letters at the door, a CIC employee put a number on them and placed in the queue. We then went in and found seats in front of 3 windows where people are called by officers. When our names were called we walked to a window and were asked for the photographs and passports. The officer then asked us some generic questions about our last entry and we also had to answer and initial a couple questions on our COPR. She asked us to sign and date and that was it! She congratulated us on becoming PR and returned our passports stamped and a copy of our signed COPR. She informed us that our PR status will be valid as long as we stay 2 out of 5 years in Canada and that our PR cards will arrive in mail in 4-6 weeks. We can apply for our SIN in 24 hours. That was it! Such a pleasant experience at the CIC office! Our PR journey is finished and I wish everyone who is waiting such a smooth process! Good luck, guys! This forum rocks!

Congrats!!!!!!!

Could you please update all with what did they asked you when you landed?

please if you don't mind could list all questions serial wise..

Hi Diplomatru,

Nothing about your 3rd line yet? A friend of mine had her results uploaded on Jan 07 and didn't get it yet...

Did everybody in this thread input their information in the global spreadsheet? If not, please do so. The processing average time of CPC Ottawa has certainly increased, but the information in the spreadsheet is not be reflecting the actual reality...

no problem! The CIC officer asked me and my husband only two questions apart from the two questions on the COPR that she asked later. The first question was "when was your last entry to Canada?"and the second question "where did you enter?". Then she typed something on her computer, went to another room and came back with two copies of our COPR, she then asked if we were every criminally charged in Canada or abroad and if we have any dependents other than listed on the COPR. We answered no to both questions and then she circled the answers on the copies and asked us to initial next to them, sign and date at the bottom. She signed and dated after us and gave one copy of our COPR to us and kept the other, she also kept our original COPR with the picture.
