Hello everyone! I have a wonderful news. We became Permanent Residents of Canada today! The landing procedure was done at a local CIC office in Ottawa. No appointment was required as this location has drop in landing hours on a couple Tuesdays of each month (odd dates). Hours are at 10 am and at 1 pm. The process went very fast and smoothly. We were asked for our COPR letters at the door, a CIC employee put a number on them and placed in the queue. We then went in and found seats in front of 3 windows where people are called by officers. When our names were called we walked to a window and were asked for the photographs and passports. The officer then asked us some generic questions about our last entry and we also had to answer and initial a couple questions on our COPR. She asked us to sign and date and that was it! She congratulated us on becoming PR and returned our passports stamped and a copy of our signed COPR. She informed us that our PR status will be valid as long as we stay 2 out of 5 years in Canada and that our PR cards will arrive in mail in 4-6 weeks. We can apply for our SIN in 24 hours. That was it! Such a pleasant experience at the CIC office! Our PR journey is finished and I wish everyone who is waiting such a smooth process! Good luck, guys! This forum rocks!
