Got PPR from Los Angeles

I'm grateful to you all for your help in getting me the PR visa. I wanted to point out how long it takes to get the visa stamped in the US i.e. add a month after getting PPR. (for Indians who cannot send their passport to Canada.)

• PPR from CPC-O: Jan 8 (I Immediately responded to print visa in the US)
• PPR from Los Angeles: Jan 30
• Passport Received by LA: Feb 3
• Passport Sent/Mailed from LA: Feb 12
• Passport Received: Feb 14

How long is the visa valid?

Until I got my visa, I had always wondered how long would it be valid for. It seems to be that a few days longer than 1 year from the date you completed the Medical. (Ensure that your passport is valid for at least a year and a half after the date of your Medical.)

• Medical Completed: Nov 5, 2014
• eMedical Entry/File Completed: Nov 13, 2014
• Medical Updated in ECAS: Nov 24, 2014
• Visa Valid up to: Nov 20, 2015

Dear Destinationca,

all of your dependents (Including your spouse, children) are you are accompanying depends even though they don't come to Canada at the time you are entering. For them you need pay application fee ($550 per person) to process your application.

Your non accompanying dependents can be parents/ brothers/sisters. You don't have to pay fee for them at this time. But you need to add them in your application, to make sure you can offer PR visa in future if they need. Once decision made, you can't do any additions to your application.

Now tell me, whom do you want to add as accompanying dependents, your child/spouse or your parents/brothers?

if it possible to add anybody before decision made. call CIC and also send a case specific enquiry to CPC-O regarding to your situation and follow their instruction.

When did you submit FBI? Last I heard Oct 24th guy got his FBI recently. they are moving very slow.

Got my GCMS notes today. Ordered it on January 19 but it says requested date on the top portion Feb 11, 2015. Does it mean the updates I got is until Feb 11?

I submitted last week of December. Need to send explanation to CIC. I am ready with India PCC, waiting for China PCC and FBI.
And RPRF should be paid after PCC or does it matter?

I think we cannot make our parents/brothers/sisters as accompanying dependents. As per CIC dependents will be only spouse, common-law-partner, children or dependent of our children. But we cannot write our parents/brothers/sisters name in 'Generic Application Form' and calling them as Non-accompanying members for later use. To call them in Canada, I think we have to make separate fresh application after we become Canadian citizen...Also there is one program of Supervisa but I don't have latest update on that...

In their guidance they define Family members and Dependent.

You can add your spouse and child back by letting CIC know first and then paying the application fees, RPRF and providing all docs.
