I have a question, I use my prior UCI to check my ECAS status in CIC system and found a line "we recevie your application on 25 AUGUST" a week ago. But I have not reveived the per email so far. So am I per? and just wait for the per email?

Hi there,

Is your DD encashed already? If yes, just wait for the PER email. If not, you may send an email to CIO to check the status of your application.

Q. How can I know the status of my application?
A. In reality you can't. But if you have sent your application 8 ~ 10 weeks ago, then you can email at cio-sydney-search-enquiry[at]cic.gc.ca to get the status of your application. You will have to send them your Last name, First name, Date of Birth, Country of Birth in order to get the notification. You will receive a reply by email within 20 working days.
Have been seeing lot of queries on how to contact CIC for an update.Found this usefull information.
Hope it helps others on the forum who are also eagerly waiting for an update.

How to get in touch with CIC over the phone or via email

NOTE: It is not necessary that you will get information about Federal Skilled Worker Program. Do not call them before time [8 ~ 10 weeks], they will NOT be able to help you!

Via Email

For case specific query, you need to e-mail at CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry[at]cic.gc.ca .

You will have to send them your Last name, First name, Date of Birth, Country of Birth with additional info like application received date at CIC in order to get the notification

Via Phone

Getting in touch on the phone:
call to below number based on your location
Inside Canada: 1-888-242 2100
Outside Canada: 1-613-944-4000

if calling to 1-613-944-4000 follow below steps:
Select 1 for English
Then 1 for foreign affair
2 for immigration
Call is being transferred to CIC
Then 1 for English
2 for status
1 for PR

If you don't have a UCI and want to obtain it :

When it asks you to enter UCI number just be on hold n let it say it 3 times then the call is automatically transferred to an agent
Agent will ask information about last name, first name, date of birth, application received date, email id etc.

If you already have a UCI and want to check the status:

In last IVR system ask you to enter your UCI
Once you enter your UCI,
If system directs you directly to agent without any announcement it's means your payment is not Encashed yet
If after entering your UCI, you listen the announcement like ” your application has received on xxx day” it's means you have been charged now wait for the PER

Most applicants who received their PER actually got their PR visa. But we should also remember that the final decision to grant us the visa is dependent on the authenticity and completeness of all submitted docs and the results of our medical and security/background check. If you are confident about all of these, then you can expect to receive your PR visa by then end of the process.

My bank couldn't tell me if the DD was encashed or not! And I called up CIC but the lady told me I have to contact Sydney office to get any information about my application, and that's only possible through e-mail. How unfortunate!!!

ALHUMDUlLLILLAH i got my PER email today...

However i am not sure about few things in email. I would appreciate if any expert
Could advise me...

It says that "dont send any additional documents unless requested"

Then it says that if you have changes like new employer/new born, then you should inform your visa office which in my case is London.

The fact is I have both these changes new born/new employer. So do i have to notify visa office now or wait for them to ask about any changes. And what is the method and way of informing them. Submission of new forms or jst a letter including details of changes.

One more thing, my new employer is not in my own country from which I submitted my application so can i request visa office to take my medicals when required in the country where i now work and my family medicals in my country of origin as they have not moved yet.

Please also advise any number or email on which to communicate regarding my application...

Inform your local VO about the changes when you already received a notice that your file has already reached your VO (notice is via AOR- Acknowledgement of Receipt email or when they already sent the MR and/or additional docs request email). As we know, after we receive the PER email, CIO will have to send your files to the local VO you have specified in your application to process your case. So it would be safe to talk to them about the changes when your files are already with them.

To know how to contact them, just check the email you'd be receiving from them. Normally, their official contact details will be included in the email correspondences they will be sending you.

Regarding the documents reflecting the changes in your job and family, you may want to provide a letter explaining the changes PLUS supporting documents (eg. copy of new contract/ job offer; birthcert for your newborn) to save time and expedite facilitating the changes in your information. But then again, only provide this after you have verified that your file has reached your VO already.

Lastly, about the medicals, I've also asked the same question to the seniors in this forum, and they said it's ok for medicals to be done in the country where you are working at (outside your home country). But I suggest (and this is what I am going to do), to verify it also with the local VO once my file reaches their office to get accurate information and avoid potential delays with my application.

Other seniors, please comment if you have more info.

Were you charged already? If yes, the likelihood of you receiving PER is high. The same line/ status in ECAS is the same status seen in applicants who already received their PER email. However, it's still best for you to wait for the actual PER email to confirm your status. PER email is normally issued 15-20 days or more from the charging.

Yesterday i used the same information on how to contact CIO office and called on toll free number 0061-613-944-4000 and managed to speak to call center agent.She asked me to mail my details on question@cic.gc.ca for information on status of my application for FSW program.

My application received on 21st august....DD still not charged as per my bank.So i am very confused and upset with the present scenario.
