FSW 2014 August Applicants

Dear all,

I recently submitted my application to CIC after I discovered that my point would be 66 which would not be enough to take me through. While expecting that the already submitted application would be refused, I have started putting another application and documents together to be resubmitted before the deadline.

My Nephew who is permanent resident in Canada has now eventually agreed to give all the documents that would earn me additional 5 points under ADAPTABILITY. Her mother and my mother have the same father, however, their maiden names are different as both chose different names of their father.

For instance their father's name was ASHIRU ALIU. My mother's maiden name is ASHIRU Bolaji while my nephew's mother maiden name is ALIU Basirat

My worry is based on the following:

1. My Nephew is a permanent resident whose mother's maiden name (ALIU Basirat) was submitted along with his application under FSWP in the past.
2. My first application has my mother's maiden name (ASHIRU Bolaji)

The checklist require a proof of relationship through a birthday certificate showing both mother's maiden name in this case.

Should I adjust my mother's maiden name to align with my Nephew's mother maiden name (i.e. ALIU Bolaji)?
Or how best do I deal with this ?

As long as your mother's and your cousin's father has the exact same name, you will be fine. Make sure you have the exact same spelling of your grand parents as it is in your cousin's document.

I applied for FSW again this year. My application was received on August 13th. Check with my bank, they told me the DD was encached. I used Canadian bank. I check on 20th November at the bank, but they were not able to tell me the exact date when the DD was encached.
I hope this to be good sign but still am waiting for PER.

Don't know if this is good sign, because even if they found you ineligible they will encache your DD and send you new one.
That happend to me last year. I received cheque from CIC but they send me email to inform me that I am ineligible.
So far I have not received anything... so I am hopefull that this is a good sign.

Hello all - I would like to share the news from my side. I got PER mail from CIC today and would like to thanks everybody here for helping me on each step.

Details for my applications are:
1. Application Date: 31st July
2. CC Charged: 7th Nov
3. PER mail received: 25th Nov
4. NOC: 2171

However, inspite of this great news, I would like to get the input on one of the issues that I am coming across. Request all the experts on this forum for the helping hand.

Problem is: My Passport is getting expired in Sept, 2015. And with the pace, I think it will take another 2-3 months for the complete process. And as I understand, I would be getting the VISA for one year or until Passport expiry date (whatever is early). Also, we have a fact that we cannot travel for the six months prior to Passport expiration and we need to go for its re-newel process. Therefore, I will be in problem in Jan-Feb because of this scenario. Please help me if I should get the passport renewed asap before the MR and how shall I update CIC for this change. On the Application Status site for CIC, I only see the option for changing the mailing address and nothing to contact them in case of other problems.

PLEASE SUGGEST ASAP!

I suggest you renew your passport as early as now. Since MR still need around 30-45days after PER if i'm not wrong. By then, when they request for such. You can also send them your renewed passport as an update. Other applicants have done this, so no issue.

I saw that one of our mates NOC-2173, DD, app date: 19-Aug, application returned.

My question is, I am too from 2173, DD, BUT app date 18-Aug. I see that there is very slim chances.
But my hope gives me hope that I have my UCI, which I got by calling CIC some 3 weeks back, so probably I am "just in".

Any thoughts ??????[/size][/size]

Bro, no one will ever know and can give you the accurate answer. Only time will tell. But since you mentioned you have your UCI #. You can check online through CIC website, so can roughly have an idea of your status. Lucky for you they provided you the UCI. If you can see your status online stating "In Process"...... That's really a good sign.

DD en cashed on November 21, 2014 by Receiver general for Canada!


This is the text I got from my husband 2 hrs back !! Even till then I ws cursing cic for keeping my dd still outstanding !

Here is my details:

Appl rcvd : 1st august
DD encashed : 21 st November

Hi Sis.. at last your turn has come.. God really works in mysterious ways. Happy for you, you got to find out your DD encashed. Now PER waiting time for you won't be that much long. See how bro sk540 got his PER just yesterday and your on the same boat as 1st Aug applicants.

What are the time line and steps for the processes from DD charge to VISA issue?

My wife's DD got charged in November 21, 2014 for NOC 4011... visa office Singapore

The timeline for whole process depends mostly on the local VO.One of the fastest processing time i saw from date of app received to the Visa stamped on hand was only within 6 months.. This is pertaining to Manila VO.
