Hello all, How are you guys doing?

I am an old member of this forum, just visit here quite a few times and most of the times am a silent observer.

I landed here last year, got a job offer third day after that. I would like to give you all few tips and suggestions. My post might end up in the pile but who ever reads it please consider it a serious opinion from a Software tester who got a job in first week after landing.

Canada is a very nice country with peace of mind, quality living and awesome people. When I landed here I was having 5+ years of exp in automation testing. Employers here don't want any experience certificates, they just want that whatever you have written in your resume, you should really know that.
Do as many certifications as you can related to your field and gain as much practical experience as you can.
Add as many recruiters as possible on LinkedIn and get a premium account for some time.
While back in India get a Canadian number with forwarding on your Indian number from a provider like OneSuite.
Create your resume with a professional looking email address and Canadian phone number with a nice cover letter and start applying the jobs before landing. If you get a call, tell them you are coming very soon.
And regarding salary, am getting much more that I had expected, so your expertise and skills matter alot.
Dont come with an attitude that you will get a job easily, come with an attitude that you will study and prepare very hard that you will crack the first interview that comes your way.
Here the recruiters have very good networking and if you are rejected, many of them would know that in a second and will not contact you. So if you are going for an interview, be very well prepared.
You can PM me if any other detail is required and can add me on LinkedIn if anyone wants. My name is Arshdeep Brar.
Good Luck!!

WOW +1 to you great!!! loved your realistic attitude, you really made people realise what they speculate... although I'm from very diff field (medical) but I just liked what u said and the way you took your journey!!! :D :D :D
burrrrrraahhh ;D ;D ;D ;D

keep posting

good morning dear members ;D

To any who got CC/DD charged/encashed but still do not have PERs yet..

Yesterday I almost lose my hope on my application since I did not hear any news on my PER as yet, I also sent email asking CIC since 10 July and finally got replied on 21 August (30 days!) saying that "Your file has been transferred to the visa office in Singapore for further assessment/decision". Again I haven't received PER but my application is simply TRANSFERRED to VO..amazing.

My status is showing "IN PROCESS" in ECAS.

So I wish this brings hope back to you guys..I am 7th May application....Whoo hoooooooooo :P :P :P

Hi Seniors,

Today my application was returned. Weird reason that i got.

Category: 2171

All paperwork is correct but:

1. A review of your application indicates you do not meet the requirements of regulation 10 of IRPA.
2. You did not provide us with an original educational credential assessment ECA report.

Do i need to fill all the application/forms again or the one that they returned i can use them and attach the new documents that i missed.

Also, two queries that i got, how should i handle those.

PLEASE PLEASE help.
any suggestions from the expert.

ALSO IF SOMEONE COULD SEND ME THE DUTIES AND FORMAT OF EXPERIENCE LETTER THAT I SHOULD SEND FOR CATEGORY 2171.

I DID SEND IT CORRECT THOUGH.

INFORMATION SYSTEMS ANALYST.

This is absurd on the part of CIC. Rejecting someone's application on basis of their wrong calculation of IELTS scores (Amritraj) and now this. What is the difference between a 10th or 12th certificate in this context ?

Anyhow, CIC has mentioned in the checklist that it needs Birth Certificate, and nowhere it is said that they will accept 10th certificate in lieu of that. So, from where did this idea of 10th certificate came in the first place. And if 10th certificate works, then one from 12th should too.

10th certificate have DOB but 12th cert. Doesnt ...

Hi,

Any 14th May applicant was encashed by DD?

So far, all the applications being charged for 14th May used CC for the payment.

Did you put a tick in boxes on your checklist or on Schedule 3 form for Phd and arranged employment?

Don't know the exact process for japan Pcc but I guess u don't need to prove them why u need .. They will charge you fee and check your details which you will provide wi visa n all...

Pls use my friend google and search for process .

Good luck

to be clear, you need to explain them why you need it. even local japanese people can not be excluded. i meant you need to prove.

Retry..............plz help

Hi Seniors,

My application file date is 18 Jul 2014. SO i have 2 months to go before i get per email.
Once my file is transferred to New Delhi office, they will ask me for PCC to be submitted in two months.
Since i have stayed more then 6 months in Japan, and to get Japan PCC, it takes more then 2 months.

So what should i do in that case?

Even if i apply for PCC in Japan embassy, they will ask me to provide the evidence that i really need the PCC which i dont have right now.

( I think CIO/new Delhi officers might be knowing that Japan takes more then 2 months to provide the PCC, so can we get any flexibility here?)

try to show them your document check list. this worked for japanese living abroad, but i do not know about the foreign nationalities.

Well, this is how I feel then. :-[

But why would be person (whose application got rejected) submit a certificate/document in place of birth-certificate when that document doesn't even have date of birth mentioned on it. The person would be more absurd in that case. I hope this is not the case.

Regards

CIC seems to have gone officially crazy in that case.

But are you sure it was CIC who called. Usually they email.

I hope it wasn't any of your friend playing prank on you. Things happen.
