Agreed. But CIO seem to be doing a multi-step completeness check i.e. they would check correct forms first, then go on to see if they are filled right, then to see if 67 points have been reached etc etc. If CIO was doing the full completeness check per file, I am sure some of the early birds would have been charged by now...
According to the CIC website, they follow these steps:

After you apply, a Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) officer will verify that you have:

  • filled out your application forms correctly and signed them,
  • paid your processing fee (that means your CC will be charged regardless your eligibility), and
  • included all documents.

If your application is not complete, we will send it back to you without processing it.

The Centralized Intake Office (CIO) will contact you :D when it gets your application. You will be told what you need to do and what will happen next.

Forget that, it is a bit outdated! Follow the manual below. Section 8 shows what is involved in the completeness check

So May 4th is finally here, the much anticipated date. Yet many of us are still quite busy filling out forms, gathering documents and awaiting reports for ECA's . :'(

I created this thread to facilitate members keeping track of applicants within their batch. However I am not very tech savvy, the 2011 applicants had a track sheet that showed the progress of the applicants....I have posted the link below.

Can anyone create a similar one for the 2013 applicants and make it assessable to us. :)

I think he can always show his FD as a proof of funds , its a liquidated amount and he has the access all the time. Expert comments welcome ..

As far as I know, you are not eligible to apply under FSWP if you do not have access to the amount specified as PoF. This amount has to be your own money and you CAN NOT borrow.

April 2014.
Actually current batch ends on April 30th. So possibly new one is starting from May 2014... with who knows which NOCs.
But most likely - NOCs will be significantly expanded to allow bigger intake for the Expression Of Interest system.

Look at his time line man... its reached on 4th June'13..... far behind...
If his app reached CIC at 6/4, how could he already receive it back as wrong? Or he just said he knows he used the wrong one and didn't get it back yet?

I believe they select on the basis of total marks obtained out of 100. So, even if the pass score is 60 & you score say 62, that doesn't mean you are going to be invited for visa. They will invite the ones with the top score, and then going down in the list up to limit. Say they have a limit of 10, and 2 got 95, 5 got 85 3 got 80. The limit is finished, but you will remain in the pool until 1 day, you are with in the limit.

This is how I understand it. If I am wrong, someone will correct my statement.
Hi mate,

Based on what do you draw such a general conclusion? I mean, if it ever was such a "contest" among applicants, who would have the most points, it won't be called economic class immigration. You realize that in case you have 100 points you should have relatives there, job offer, spouse/partner, perfect work exeprience and education, speak fluently both official languages regardless of the destination province, etc... All these things said, make me think that they (CIC) figured out, if you don't have one particular skill or "factor", you could have another and that's why there is a minimum level of points (threshold) above which all applicants should be considered equal. *Remember, that before if you even had not enough points you could still apply and explain in details why you think you could prosper in Canada.
At leaset this is how I understand this program. For other classes there are other criterias, you know... So, basically, I don't agree with you (or maybe currently I don't) that above 67 point it matters how many "more than the others" you got.

Kind regards,
Vel
