HELLO FRIENDS
MY PACKAGE IS READY TO MOVE
TOMMOROW OR DAY AFTER TOMMOROW I WILL SEND IT TO CIC

STILL ONE CONFUSION. . . . MANY FRIENDS ADVISE TO NOTARIZED ALL THE PHOTO COPIES!!!!!!
WHAT SHOULD I DO?

vATS
You must have all photocopies notarized. Please refer to the application completion guide "Guide 7000" at:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG7TOC.asp#eg74

You can find it immediately above "Step 2: Complete the application".

It clearly says that ALL photocopies need to be notarized.

Thanks and regards...

Shehzad,

Its only valid for documents which are not in English and needs translation. then only we need to notarize it.,
If references are in English then we just need a copy nothing to be certified.
Translation of documents

Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:

the English or French translation; and
an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
a certified copy of the original document.

Thanks Kashka. Though it has been clearly mentioned in document checklist that the police clearance certificate can be submitted later, but a lawyer said me to include it. If would take another 10 days to arrange that.So do u think it makes any difference to consider my application without police clearance certificate?

roy,

There is nothing in sending your application without a PCC. I dont know why a lawyer is adamant in asking for it. There is no special weight age for pCC. Instaed of waiting for 10 days and then missing the Cap i guess its best to be in the queue.
Its just my personal feelings.

Fellas,

The authorities require certified true copies of the documents you are submitting. The main intent of this is to avoid misrepresentation of data. Notarising the required document is mandatory regardless of the language of the document therein.

Hope this clarifies.

Absolutely, My Mom had applied for PR earlier. She had all her copies notarized irrespective of language. She got her PR. Even i was told by many to have my copies notarized. It's mandatory. Don't know why they didn't mention this officially on the site. Hope this helps.

Darkman,

My 2 elder sisters with their family applied of PR, never in their process they notarized it. They r Canadian now.
My younger brothers file is with NDVO and its in the last stages now. Basically all medicals and RPPF has been encashed and just waiting for Stamping on the passport. Never in this process we were asked for notarized copies.
We all have dealt with Copies only . Nothing notarized.
It was not to offense anyone. just my experience.

Hi prince_of_darkness,
I don't mean any offense to anyone either. We are here to help each other, not to find faults in each other's applications. I wish that everyone on this forum gets PR, but ultimately it's not me but CIC who decides.

What I'm saying is according to the best of my understanding, I may well be wrong.

The "Certified true copies" section is separate from the "Translation of documents" section. All translations must be notarized and all photocopies must be certified true copies.

And I quote everything from the following page:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG7TOC.asp#eg74

The original of the translated document need not be sent but the photocopy which must be "certified". And same is the case with the photocopies of all other documents that they must be "certified".

Thanks and regards...

this lawyer is a stupid guy...

in your cover letter to CIC, just mention that reason you are not attaching PCC with the package (this is also not mandatory) ....
