I am applying my child study permit age 7 year, his Schengen visa was refused in 2016 when i was going to Italy for study. child was 6 month at that time and was wanted to accompany with me. Please assist me should i mention in 1294e form that he was before rejected Schengen visa or not? if i mention that rejected then might be this time canada can reject his visa. i am confused
It is advisable to mention about prior visa refusal for smooth processing , mentioning will not hamper your chances.

I seen In this thread that few people didn't mention and they got approval. I just worried if I mention then visa officer think that previously I had tried for child visa and was rejected when I was going Italy for study and this time I again trying to apply for child and VO may think something negative but I decided I will mention this

You should mention all the refusals in the application. Otherwise there gonna be consequences of misrepresentation and ban for 5years. There will be no impact on your child application if you mention his refusal, its fine. What I am saying is attach the refusal letter too. If you do not have the refusal just attach letter of explanation why his visa was refused. Thanks. Be honest and mention all the refusals and attach the letters if you have. Don't play with immigration history just mention it because these things come back to haunt you even if you get visa by their ignorance they can come back to you and ask you why you didn't mention then there gonna be more problem. How I know it was happened to me but when I realize my mistake I corrected it and get my visa.

@Mpmp I got a confirmation email earlier from ircc that my webform has been recieved at migration service unit , india 10 days ago(i mentioned about my USA visa refusal in the webform which i forgot earlier during submission) . I emailed to my local visa office to ask if my changes has been done. They replied that "my query has already been responded recently by them and they have nothing new to add" .Does that mean that my changes have been made to the file?

You are fine my friend. You did the right thing. Now enjoy. I never see a single case get refused after uploading the webform and correct the mistake.

Very normal. It can take time for an officer to review the webforms and enter them in the application. However, as long as the webform is in, you need not worry.

@legalfalcon Do we need to update 1295e or 5669e form to update the previous visa refusal for PR application? And how can you view what you originally answered during PR app submission?

You do not have to send any forms unless specifically asked.

To see what you answered in your application, you will have to get your documents from IRCC under the ACcess to Information.
