good luck to all of us...
just keep trying--now you have a work permit! ;)

Well, I'm Portuguese and I'm looking for a construction job for starters. Not much experience, but I'm also trying on other departments and I'm trying not to be too picky. I'm sending resume's for over one month now, and I will keep trying until I manage to get my LMO. Damn it's hard to work in Canada. Even if it takes one all year, I'll join you :)
PS: I got really sad I didn't even get a reply from MacDonalds. How hard can it be?

Good day everyone!

I am an Agriculture graduate from University of the Philippines.
I tried applying for a PR visa, but sad to say the new NOC list this year doesn't include my profession/occupation.
I used to work as a Field Researcher for almost 2 years. And as of now I'm working as a Marketing Agent for an Agro-chemical company.
I have a sister is Alberta, but it seems that she also has some difficulty in helping me apply because she's working and at the same time studying (specializing).

Is there any way where I can apply for a working visa and land a job related to my profession. I tried looking for research or agriculture related jobs, but I don't know what to do next after applying online.

I hope someone would be kind enough to help me or recommend me something.
Thank you very much!

Your chance of getting job offer to get a visa is almost zero. You should find another way to apply for PR in Canada.

I just don’t see the point why an employer would go through a process to issue you an LMO as that employer can find a lot of applicants living in Canada already. Unless your job is very specializing which requires Phd research..etc

Thanks for the reply. Actually, I gave up in applying for a PR visa. As you said, it's almost zero.
I'm thinking if there are ways for me to apply for a working visa, but I don't know how.
Any help please.

Thanks.

Hi Everyone,

I am Irish and I will have the Canadian working holiday visa in the next few weeks and I will be looking for work in the Toronto area. I am a fully qualified Mechanical Design Engineer and have over 3 years experience in this field. Where would be the best place to look for work? Do I need to get my qualifications recognised? Any help would be much appriciated.

Thanks in advance
James

try to find/google recruitment agencies in canada that are specialized in your field, once you find some agencies start contacting them before travelling to understand what are the job market requirements ... and if they have some advice for you
Getting qualifications recognized might not add value to your "competitiveness" - but might be an obstacle if its not done, so do it anyway - it will not harm.

Generally to work in any engineering design field - you should be a PEng

i'm from a different field, so i cannot add more...maybe some other forum members who have experience in your field can advise further

Hi, I am a Bulgarian doctor with a sister who is Canadian citizen. I am interested in the options for training and working in Canada. I understand that it will be difficult in the beginning and I will have to start the training anew but what are the options meantime? Can I start a PhD programme and how can I do that as an international graduate? is it possible at all without having permanent residency or Canadian citizenship? If not what are the ways for getting these? Thanks for the help.

Iam new to this. I live in NYC and Ive been thinking hard about moving to canada. Im finishing my CCS (certified coding specialist) thats coding medical records. One thing people have been telling me about Canada is catering to family. America to me isnt family friendly like other countries.

You should have a minimum band of 6 in each category of IELTS. Since you only have 5.5 in reading, you may not be eligible.

Hi there :)

Ill be moving to Montreal next month and i have contacted the local government about the training on EMS
I currently work as a nurse- EMT in kuwait and thinking on working as an ambulance driver in Cote-Saint-Luc to have some money flowing to me while i start my settlement process.

Thing is, Is it hard to look for a job in the field of EMS?
Dont get me wrong, I will take any job as i can so i could establish myself. My wife told me that in an interview, even if im new in canada and havent have my credentials in lieu with the Canadian requirements, i need to prove to the employer that i can do the job well.
So what is it that employers look for in a prospective hire aside from his education?

Thank you. Any form of advice will help me. More power to you all.
