Hi all,
our process started in the UK in December 2014: I am sponsoring my partner. We moved to Canada in August 2015, in September he had a request to provide police certificates from the US and Israel which took months to arrive. We finally sent them off early February.

Finally I checked ecas today and it's decision made - hoping it is positive of course - but his medical expired in November of 2015.

What's the perspective of people who may have been through this scenario or know more about it - how stringent are they with the medicals and should we be worried decision has been made without a request for a further medical?

more than likely the medical has been extended so he can land. this is quite typical. CIC has the ability to extend the medical if it was done within 16 mo. of the decision being made. a file won't go to decision made if a new medical is needed. they would have requested that from him. if he has decision made, then most likely he will be getting his COPR soon.
