file has been transferred to local CIC office

Hi! I applied for a PGWP on September 17 and today I received the following message:

“This letter refers to your application for a Work Permit. Your application has been transferred to the Canada Immigration Centre located in Etobicoke for processing. The Canada Immigration Centre will be contacting you with further instructions in due course.”
The application was in the Case Processing Centre in Edmonton.

Any idea what that means??

It means your file is in Etobicoke office. Their processing time usually being 4-6 months.
You can expect to receive the final result probably next June.
You may want to get your GCMS notes now to find their notes on your file regarding the processing schedule.

Any idea why this transfer happened in the first place? Why my application? And how long does it take to get these notes?

The notes should include the reason of transfer. You can get the note in one month after your application

The reason for transfer could be you applying late, and them wanting a senior officer to look into it.
Again get GCMS notes and find out.

Applied on March it transferred on September I got approved on December

same happened with me
Applied for work permit extension in July
Transferred to CIC edmonton in October
no update till then
What could be the reason Please
