The additional docs were RCMP fingerprints request first and then later Police Certificate from home country.

I am also a QSW applicant transferred to the CPC Ottawa. I am living in Montreal with a temporary resident visa.
My ECAS is as follows:

We received your application for permanent residence on June 09, 2015.
We sent you correspondence acknowledgement of receipt on Sept 01, 2015
We started processing your application on Sept 01, 2015

Surprisingly, on November 09, they asked me to send a certificate of criminal record check from Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), which I sent within a week.

But no medical request so far.

My questions are:

Why do you think they asked me for RCMP first?

Shouldn’t they send me the medical request first, as it is the case with every body here?

Do you know any other applicant being asked for RCMP, before sending him the medical request?

Please help me...

It's normal no need to be worried.
I know friend who got their RCMP request before medical while other friend got it after medical.
It's really case by case and now you have to wait couple of months to get your medical from Ottawa.

One of my friend applied on Dec 10th, 2014 and received PPR yesterday.

Any other November/December applicant received passport request? I applied in November and still waiting.

You should receive your MR soon, I am sure. Most December applicants got theirs around August, so I would expect yours to arrive around February.

I don't have to wait for my PPR though! I am from a visa-exempt country, so I am currently just waiting for my COPR in the mail.

Does anybody know whether there are any cases, where CIC does not require a Canadian police record?

I sent in my US criminal record with my application but I never sent in my Canadian police record, as the application does not require one.
I figured if they want one they'll ask me to get one. But now I'm curious do they always ask for one? Does anybody know?
