Hi,
The rule is that the PR should be in Canada for the entire process. Citizen can leave the country or can sponsor from outside. From what I have read a lot, small vacations ahould be ok about 2 weeks. But staying outsode the country for 6 months definitely raises questions about the sponsor residence.

what if someone is stuck in another country due to Covid or on honeymoon or travelling due to work for a couple of months,,,these stupid rules are madeup and not written anywhere on IRCC website.

Hello all,

I have sent my sponsorship application (for my wife) to Sydney, Nova Scotia on March 23rd and the tracking details from Canada post confirms that It got delivered on March 29th. As for the next step! would I be receiving any email with an application number? Just wanted to know how long it might take to get an update and any further inputs/steps from you all.
