I honestly don't know why they are sending it back. . . . .a million prayers? haha
We honestly were about to cancel our application for Canadian permanent residency. Literally the letter was going to go out this coming Monday, so this was perfect timing. I'm so out of the loop with time frames and such. . . .after medicals are received it's not much longer right?

see... it's the universe telling you to keep going, and not let any dumbness detour you on your path! like i said, timing is hard to predict. my guess is maybe another 2-4 months? i really have no idea.

ALSO - since we probably will still be proceeding with moving to the states - as long as I am living with my Canadian Citizenship spouse, I am still upholding my permanent residency obligation right? That means I won't have to be in Canada for 2 out of 5 years??

i am not sure how that works, so hopefully a senior member can help. it still confuses me.

This is what it says on CIC -

You may also count days outside of Canada as days for which you satisfy the residency obligation in the following circumstances:

OPTION 1. Accompanying a Canadian citizen outside Canada

You may count each day that you accompanied a Canadian citizen outside Canada provided that the person you accompanied is your spouse, common-law partner or parent (if you are a child under 22 years of age).

So here's to hoping I'm right. . .

I Finally found the right thread! I submitted my application to sponsor my husband from Cuba on February 12, 2014.

What stage are the other February/Cuba sponsors at?

I was approved as a sponsor on May 27, 2014, and my application is currently at the Visa Office in Havana.

Anyone know how much longer? Waiting patiently is so taxing...

Yep, you are correct. It will fulfill your PR obligations if you're with your Canadian spouse, but it will not go towards your Citizenship.

thank you....my immediate reaction was to cry in the bathroom and throw things around my office, but then I thought, don't get too excited until you know what this means...so people were safe from flying paperclips. now i just need to get my pulse back to normal.

did your application ever hit in process or did it go straight to decision made?

hi marla, i'm curious. When OTtawa requested a copy of your husband's passport, how long did it take for his ecas to change? Does it coincide with the "bring forward date" listed on the request? before? after?

Mine did not, but it does say on ECAS that it went into process a couple days before I saw DM on ECAS. I checked everyday, so it's possible they just updated it to DM before ECAS had a chance to update.
From my records you didn't have any documents requested did you? Ottawa will not deny you without first giving you a chance to prove your case.

My husband got an email yesterday with the following:

In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents:

· XXXXXXX (UCI) - B******* C**** G****:
· RPRF, Family Class: Have your sponsor pay the Right of Permanent Residence fee in Canada
This must be received at this office by: 2014/09/14

I'm not sure what the first bullet point means? It just has his UCI number and his full name, not an actual document name. Or are they just asking for the RPRF? Anyone have any insights?

It just means that they're asking for the above (BCG's) RPRF fee.

Thanks, that's what we thought it meant, it just looked weird cuz of the bullets. It made it look like they were asking for two separate things.

My medical exam is tomorrow! Guh I'm nervous ???

Really hope this is super close to the end. I'm assuming it is, since they've asked for the RPRF. . . So ready to have somewhat of a "normal" life!
