This is normal. You can't call the call centre from outside Canada. Your eCAS says the exact same thing as the rest of us. Now prepare yourself for many months of waiting. People who submitted their application for Manila last July are just getting their PPR now. Patience

Thanks.. I guess im relief then. so i think i need to go and be continue with my job until, we get the good news. (ppr and visa).

thanks again this is a great help for us monitoring the applications.

We received the AOR from the Paris visa office today! I was surprised it was my boyfriend (the sponsoree) who received it and not me (sponsor), but that must be normal. Anyway I'm delighted. Hopefully we'll be processed soon!

Once your sponsorship gets approved all communications will now go through the applicant and not you.

I did call CIC from outside Canada.
My application is stuck since I got my refund on Mar 24th. All because they said a letter was sent with the check, regarding social service.

They want me to prove I have never used welfare. How do I do that???

Get an OPTION C PRINTOUT
1 800 959-8281
There is no charge, but it takes 2-10 working days to receive it.
The sooner you call, the better.
That will prove you haven't gotten welfare.
If you sent one for 2012 with your application, they might be wanting a 2013.

I love to edit the spreadsheet, I was forgetting it

I realized our medicals are not updated in the spreadsheet. They were done on February 13th and eCAS confirms that they have been received.

Yes. I will say it's kind of a proof that you haven't applied for wellfare.

Please help with your kind inputs. Below is my timeline:
SPOUSAL file submitted at mississuaga office on : Feb 24th, 2014
Acknowledgement Email: March 20,2014 (That they have received my application on feb 24 and they will let me know when decision has been made).

Called cic 3 times already: Different answers (1st person said that they are doing additional investigation if I took social assistance, 2nd said that they were doing background checks, third said that I had withdrawn my previous spousal application (Which is true), so they are further assessing your file " FOR WHAT, I HAVE NO IDEA?").

I am very confused about my application as almost all files are decided in the mark of 31 days, then they either get transfered to a a vo or being denied. In my case they are holding my file (Since feb 2014) and not telling me whats going on. As far as my previous withdrawal is concerened. It was done in March of 2012 and I am filling back now again in feb 2014. Since then we have 2 sons born (One has a Canadian Citizenship granted from overseas) and plenty of evidence on our relationship that was provided to cic. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOUR THOUGHTS ARE ON THIS?Huh

My 2nd son was born 2nd week of JAN 2014. When sent my application to cic (feb2014) we didnt have his birth certificate to present at the moment (However we did provide them with child birth details "name, place of birth, dob etc etc). Now I plan to send them the official birth certificate of the child and also inquire about the status of my application (Through email: CPCM-EXTCOM @ cic.gc.ca MISSISSAUGA OFFICE). IS IT ADVISE-ABLE AND IS IT THE RIGHT WAY TO GO ABOUT?

SECONDLY, I am also thinking about requesting for my file notes? is it advise-able at this stage, when the file number has been issued but it is still in processing centre in Canada??? IF ADVISE-ABLE THEN KINDLY LET ME KNOW WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST WAY TO GO ABOUT IT.

KINDLY, PROVIDE AS MANY POSSIBLE INPUTS AS POSSIBLE, SINCE I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO FIND OUT ABOUT MY FILE? Thanks

Did they say they mailed you a letter? That letter would explain everything (and they would probably re-issue one if you didn't get one). I would call again (Every day, actually), until you get a straight answer. Simply put : HAVE I BEEN ACCEPTED AS A SPONSOR? And id also ask "HAS MY FILE BEEN TRANSFERED". Both important to ask.

If they say "not yet" to being a sponsor, I'd bug them about it. :) But that's just me, and I usually do the wrong things, lol))))

What does your ECAS say as far as application status is concerned? Typically most people are seeing their sponsorship applications approved and transferred to the VO within the expected time frame, but there have been a couple people in this thread, and more on the board in general, who have had to wait much much longer because of "additional investigation" or without any explanation at all. It happens.

This first stage done in Mississauga is to assess the sponsor and then to make sure you've provided all the required paperwork that the VO will need. They won't go through your proof of relationship, that's the VOs job, so that would have no bearing on your file being delayed. They will, however, make sure all your forms are there, all the signatures are there, the upfront medical and your Option C - all the things that need to know about you, the sponsor, to evaluate if you can be approved or not. Is there any reason for them to believe you've been on welfare before? I think that since you've withdrawn a sponsorship previously, it triggers them to look into the circumstances surrounding that previous application and that alone will cause delays, even if you think it's fairly obvious. I recently had to provide confirmation letters and address evidence to the CRA that I'm no longer with my ex-boyfriend from 3 years ago even though I let them know I got married 7 months ago to someone else. Different government agency, but none of them are the brightest crayon in the box, you know? Anyway, coupled with the welfare questions they seem to have, the previous application could be the problem for you.

I'm not sure about ordering your GCMS notes before your file has been transfered to a VO. I was under the impression those notes were about the PR application and were added by the VO, and not about the Sponsorship application. Hopefully someone else knows a little bit more about that than I do and can help.

Unfortunately there are very few avenues you can go down to try and get information about your file. You can try emailing them. Even if it's just to add the birth certificate to the file, it's better they have that now so the VO doesn't have to request it later if they feel like they need it. You're really just left with, like Seronic said, bugging them until you get a straight answer to simple straight questions and waiting it out.

Sorry!
