Congrats!

I'm off to see the hubby tonight so I will be offline (somewhat). Let's hope for some good news soon :)

We received AOR from the VO in Pretoria today (another whoop whoop). Steler please could you update the spreadsheet, thank you.
What a great news! I'm very happy to keep updating the spreadsheet with new info. New information (almost) always means good news!

yea :). From what I was reading in the very not active moscow thread, the Moscow office usually doesn't give any update. Doesn't even mention they received file. So I'll be bugging them until they tell me they at least got it so you can update the spreadsheet one day, haha. Otherwise the only update will be when they ask for passport, lol)

Thanks, hoping that this second stage is quick. Looking forward to getting settled.

First post on this board! I'm looking for some reassurance (aren't we all) because I feel like our PR application is not "ideal". My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years, of which we've lived together 1.5 (but waited about 10 months before putting his name on the lease...(May of last year). I know that common law applications are already tough, but hope this doesn't ruin everything. This May we will have 12 whole rent statements together, and to include more proof we included bank statements that show transfers of money between our accounts that show us contributing equally to rent and other expenses. Other proof we sent was "soft" such as sworn letters witnessed by a lawyer, and photos of us together, mostly on different vacations in various European cities, or spending Christmas with his family and having a summer holiday together with my family in Mississauga. We're also young (23 and 24) so hopefully that doesn't weigh against us.

By the way we currently live in Paris but I've been accepted to law school in Ontario (I lived in Canada from birth to 21 years old) and we are hoping to move to Canada mid-August. I included the law school acceptance letter in the file obviously as well as confirmation of my acceptance of the spot and I hope that will suffice as proof of my intention to return to live in Canada. If the PR application is not approved in time we will use the francophone advantage program to get my boyfriend a work visa without needing an LMO - but for that he needs a job offer in a qualified field (he will be a newly graduated engineer).

Anyway enough introductions. Here are our dates so far:

Application sent by DHL: Feb 17
Application received: Feb 19
Step 1 AOR: April 4 (why so long???)
SA: April 9
medicals already received :)

You have a very solid case, don't worry... everything will be OK.... just keep updating when you get new information...

Do you guys know where I email to report an error in the form? When we filled it, ends up my wife wrote her phone number wrong >.>. She put country code 7, then 7 again with her number. Theres no second 7. I'm sure cic would figure that out if they needed to phone her, seeing as how there are too many digits in the phone number, but still. Is there a way for me to email the moscow office to tell them the correct number? I know I can email them with Case Specific Enquiry, but I'm unsure if that's what I should use.

Sigh >.>

I believe that you can contact the calling centre... CIC, and update information... just like she changed information.....
changes happen... so its better to update than to say it was a mistake.... basically, that is what you need to do....update information,

good luck and don't worry... and good that you noticed the mistake and can rectify now....

Yea, I gotta contact the moscow office. Emailed them asking how I should correct it, waiting on a reply. Probably get one sometime next week. Not too worried about it ;)

Well, it seems after some bad news, much conversing and rerouting. . . .

We are withdrawing our application and instead we are moving to the United States.

Didn't see things going the way they have thus far, but it seems that this change will be completely for the better and put is ahead and in a much better place.

Thanks for all the support, I will update on when we do request a return and remove our application.

Cheers!

Hey Miss,

I had to find your other posts to understand what happened. Really sorry to hear that you will withdraw your application but I wish you the best.

I was sad to read your story, Miss Matalani! I hope your mother in law calms down and realizes that she's only estranging herself from her own son by acting so abominably toward the woman he has chosen as his life's partner. Don't lose hope for a future reconciliation, if only for the sake of the eventual children... And who knows, one day you may come to Canada anyway! In the meantime I'm sure you will be very happy with your husband in the US.

Is anyone else anxiously checking their application status every hour or so? In theory it's updated once a week, and usually on Tuesdays (I know, it's still early in the day!). But the processing times haven't been updated on the CIC website in almost two weeks so if that's anything to judge by we're due for an update!

Well, the weekdays on thursdays on the website are useless to most of us now. Just shows what applications they are working on in Mississauga. Most of us are past that stage. As for the ecas thing, I check it but it never updates. I have a feeling it'll never update until my wife gets asked for her passport, lol. I can always hope though! :D

EDIT: I just realized ecas is supposed to be updated every tuesday, neat. Too bad I feel like they will never update mine until the process is over, XD

I don't know when they update the website, but it would be awesome to have the decision made ASAP :P

Nothing is for sure yet, we still have a possibility of staying, I'll keep everyone updated as to what we decide to do. Just a very uneasy situation :\

Rome answered my email with a standard response but they did give me my husbands file number for future reference so at least I know they received my file. Yay!
