CIC didn't know he was a citizen until I told them - you are talking utter rubbish - they don't care what he does - just whether he needs a visa. Which he doesn't
CIC needs to know about intention to marry - it is a question you are asked on rprf. Telling them after decision made is hugely risky

The poster is better off informing cic and being told to wait than not telling me and risking getting into problems later on.
I will def advise them. appreciate your help

Biodata should come in the next few days - it's just height and eye colour
Have you received rprf? In that email you will be asked if your family composition has or will change - it is at this point you have to tell cic about the wedding, if not before of course.

No problem - it would be terrible to see something go wrong with your new wife when you are so close to PR
Good luck!

K you're totally not getting the point at all. You are coming to CANADA and marrying a CANADIAN CITIZEN and living in CANADA. So by all means you are bound to disclose to the govt about you marrying a Canadian or else you wont ever get entry if there is no purpose established.
Punjabi and his fiance are both Indians so far. Hence he is too late to add her onto his application, all he needs to do is apply for her as a dependent and thats exactly what the CIC will tell him. Thats y i asked him to call CIC and tell them that he is getting married post his MR etc and that his PR is almost at hand.

Hahaha you don't need permission to Marry a citizen!
if I hadn't applied for pr at all yet and was just on my work permit, I wouldn't have to tell the govt I was marrying a citizen. I would declare it on my application but you don't need permission to marry a citizen. I have applied via CEC, I am not being sponsored.
You are getting confused as adding someone to application and having a dependent are the same thing.
When you get rprf you are asked if you intend to marry (or give birth) before getting PR.
Telling CIc too late is highly risky.
The principle applicant still has to have his partner go through medicals and security and the whatnot.
Why would you tell someone to delay telling cic? You need to tell them immediately

Yes. You must inform cic. It is best if you inform the earliest .

If you inform after decision is made, it will cause delays in processing. If you don't inform at all, you might lose pr status as this is considered as misinterpretation. Misinterpretation is one reasons for refusal.

What delay r u talking about. I told him in my first post itself that he needs to call CIC and inform them and so did I tell him in my previous comment.

Congrats CEC2013! And yay to all those making progress with MRs etc.

Just wondering, can we check how much of our Medical data has been sent off? Just contact the Dr? Will it change in ECAS?
Thanks! :)

Guys, just wanted to say....I didnt check in on anything sent. Just assumed it was done. The Doc told me 2-3 business days to send medicals, and it was done. Didnt call them to confirm or CIC. This is not say you shouldnt....just that I had some faith in the process and went with it.

The only way to confirm meds is to call the Doc's office, CIC call center (say you did meds for something other than PR and want to know if its in) or you order GCMS notes. I waited for mine without any contact and it was updated on eCAS shortly. But thats not the same for everyone.

Best of luck!

You're almost there, so the happiest of holidays to you! I'm still wondering when my ECAS will change to in process. Nitpicking, I know :D
Thanks spooky! :D Hope the rest of your process is quick... and dont worry too much about eCAS, cuz its not the same for everyone. Some VOs take their time with this, while others do it immidiately. I've noticed that it takes about 1-2 days after CIC communications to update eCAS.

Happy holidays... ;D

Hi salimmhd, Congrats on your MR!
Do you know why CIC requested an employment letter? Didn't you submit along with the initial application package? In my case if they request an updated letter, it is going to be difficult. So just wanted to know the details.
