Guys if it's any consolation:

I got my MR about 2 days before my 10 month mark
My GCMS notes were generated the day before and the day before that was when my file notes were written - the officer started the notes and then 10 minutes later ordered my medical request to be sent out. While the VO could have been looking at my file for longer than that, my point is that it takes less than a day to review an applicant's file.

Hang in there!

Without a doubt. The bulk of the wait is just being in the queue. It's only more complicated/suspect cases that take longer.

Thanks lpc and jsm! Yea, lets hope my calculation of 10 months is right. Personally, I dont care about the overall timeline....as long as I have an idea about the status: passed, review or recommend; I can wait for MR, PPR or whatever.

Hopes are still up that GCMS will have something on it the next time around. :D

Hi everybody,

I’m new here, this is my first post in the forum.

I am a February 2013 applicant in the CEC category. I got an AOR on April 9 stating my request had been received by Immigration Canada on 2013, February 26. And until now, nothing… :-[
When checking my status online, it just shows:
“We have received your request for permanent residency on 26 February 2013.”

I just read the last pages of this topic and if I understand well, February applicants received a request for sending Medicals in October. Then I am really worrying now.
I called CIC but the agent I talked with told me that the call centre did not have any control on the CEC category. He told me to address Sydney. So I send an email last week to Sydney at “CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry[AT]cic.gc.ca”. It is the only way I found to contact them. And I didn’t get any answer.

What would you recommend me to do?

Also, I have another question: did you guys received the Medical request by email or did you receive it by postal mail?

Thanks in advance.

Guillaume.

Very few February applicants have received their medical request. Most of them were part of a pilot project. We still have many applicants from January, and some left from November and December 2012 who are also still waiting. You should expect to hear something either next month or after the new year.

Thanks for these prompt feedbacks. It is kind of reassuring.
I guess the proceeding time has been significantly increased after they changed the application condition from 2-year experience to only 1-year.
Does someone has information about the evolution of the applicants number after the December 2012 change?

This is all you need to know, one easy formula.

If you havnt received MR after the 10 month mark, then maybe start to get worried a bit.

If you havnt then you really can't say anything, sorry to sound tough on you but those are the facts

Some guy who applied in March got MR today, but nobody can count this becaue he was a part of the pilot project! The guys who went into 'app in process' one to two months after AOR.

But for the majority of us 'app received' apllicants its a 10 month wait to MR.

None of us like it but that's just they way it is!

So feb guys on a positive note.

What with jan applicants nearly done, next week should be the start of early FEB 'app received' applicants getting MR.

CEC2013, your up next buddy!!

Suvan. more than half of January applicants are still waiting on any kind of news...

That's FAR from what I would call "being nearly done " ;)

I'm thinking the week after next before we start hearing something. All the recent MRs seem like they are almost exactly 10 months from the app received date.

You'll find that some applicants think 'f-ck it!'
Once they receive MR and beyond. They can't be bothered no more to update.

Il stick to what I said, I'm sure we wil 'start' to see the odd one next week
