Hi am welcome kodiaksa and Feb92015 to the forum. I have been following the November, Dec and Jan threads closely and though each case can have different scenarios it so far looks like about 3-4 months when you receive AoR's, this stage signifies your file is picked up by an CO and in his or her pile, 4-5 days for ECAS to be active so you can track the progress online then file transfer to your local office. At this stage it can vary between 2-4 months and if all is good you should get test invite following which 1-2 months for oath. The above numbers are just my estimates so good luck to all hope we will start getting AoR's around late April to Early May. Would love to have it sooner but let's see once the Jan batch start getting theirs ours will be close.

Hi I am sending mine Mid-Feb. I become eligible on the 7th :)

Would I need any buffer days since I never traveled the whole time?

Thanks!

I strongly suggest, allow month or more as the buffer days to submit, dont rush. Better to wait & apply than to get the dreaded RQ and wait for 2 years or more.

Good luck.

I sent both sides of health card and D.L. Not sure if it's required though.

Where are you located?
I am in Markham. The application was delivered today.

Any idea by when I will receive application number from CIC?

Hi WaitingForPR_09,

About 3-4 months.

Upward of 2 months, depending on luck and location, I guess!

Back to the CanadaVisa forums...they were sure a big comfort to me when I was applying for my PR.

I sent my application Feb. 6, and they received it Feb. 9. While I tried to be as thorough as I could be in providing them information (and my employment history is complicated, so it required a couple of extra pages of explanation...but hey, that worked fine for my PR application), I can see now one small place where, if they chose to be sticklers, they could consider my application incomplete. Sigh. But I hope not.

In the meantime...I know it's far too early to be concerned with these things, but...

Does anyone know of all the possible processing offices the application could be sent to? I'm in SE Ontario, and I've been reading about applications going to Kitchener, Mississauga, Scarborough...are there any other options in the area?

Are the citizenship test/interviews always held in the mornings? And where/what offices conduct them -- same ones that process the applications? I work six days a week, and I'm already wondering if it's possible that I might be asked to do the test on a day that I'm unable to get away from work. Is it possible to request a specific day, or re-schedule?

For that matter, when and where are the oath ceremonies held?

Like I said...far too early to concern myself with this! but I just wondered if anyone might know the answer.

Many thanks in advance.

Canadiandesi2006, I understand buffer days for people who don't travel but in my case I came as a refugee claimant in 2010, got my hearing in 2011 and of course not left since then. I prefer to not travel on the passport of the country I have run away from!

I will apply with 1100 days but as far as my understanding is I meet all the requirements, what is your rationale? Judging from your timeline you are amongst the people in 2012 who got mass RQed :( I don;'t think they are doing that anymore....correct me if I am wrong.

Please don't try to reschedule your ceremony. As far as I'm concerned I will miss whatever I have to. It's not worth missing the ceremony! As far as CIC is concerned citizenship trumps everything!

Hi there,

After few months of efforts, sent my Citizenship application package (1 Adult, 3 minors) on 9th Feb via Canada Post. Location Mississauaga.

Will be following updates...

Thanks for sharing,

Since you have both on the application, it shouldn't really matter. But you can probably use your mailing address as it is the one that will be used to communicate with you.

My application has been successfully delivered today (Feb 12). Any ideas on my questions?
/*
JUST sent my application in the mail, should be there Friday 13th.
I sent all documents on the list, nothing more. I am a single applicant.

I've been in Canada for over 11 years now. Just haven't submitted, so am interested to know is there is anyone with a similar experience. Do you think it would speed up the application given that residency is a non-issue, or perhaps slow it down since I took so long to apply?

Hey Kodiaksa,

We are pretty similar. I am a single applicant and been in canada for about 9 and a half years now. Started as a student then received PR via the PnP program and now applying for citizenship, I was eligible to apply on 7th October 2014 but as I lost my landing paper I waiting until end of Jan for the VoS and then applied. For your main question to be honest I don't see why it will be an issue for applying later and each application goes on a case by case basis, you will just have to wait and see. If all is fine it should follow the current procedures which you can ascertain if you read threads for people in previous months.

Hi Guys

question: which dates did u put on the residence calculator
i mean when u exit toronto they dont stamp your passport and what if u have a longer transit lets say 16hrs.

for eg u leave canada on 15 jan and passport wasnt stamped, u reach destination on 17th jan due to transit and you passport gets entry stamp.

which date am i using?
