I recently submitted an outland spousal sponsorship application. About a year ago, my wife's visitor visa application was refused. In that application, we indicated that we were friends, when in reality we were already engaged at the time.
Our current sponsorship application clearly shows our engagement and relationship timeline, so IRCC will likely notice the discrepancy when comparing the two applications.
My concern is whether this could be viewed as misrepresentation. Would it be better to proactively submit an explanation through the IRCC webform, or should I wait to see if they have any concerns?
I'm trying to avoid receiving a Procedural Fairness Letter if a proactive explanation would help.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any insight?

Thank you in advance.

Procedural Fairness Letter is highly unlikely but more scrutiny is for sure.

Why would you provide engagement date for spousal application in the first place?

I just wanted to make our case stronger by showing how our relationship developed from the beginning. It wasn't until after I submitted the sponsorship application that I realized it conflicted with what was stated in the visitor visa application.
