I recently submitted an outland spousal sponsorship application. About a year ago, my wife's visitor visa application was refused. In that application, we indicated that we were friends, when in reality we were already engaged at the time.
Our current sponsorship application clearly shows our engagement and relationship timeline, so IRCC will likely notice the discrepancy when comparing the two applications.
My concern is whether this could be viewed as misrepresentation. Would it be better to proactively submit an explanation through the IRCC webform, or should I wait to see if they have any concerns?
I'm trying to avoid receiving a Procedural Fairness Letter if a proactive explanation would help.
Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any insight?
Thank you in advance.
