Please help

Even for convictions they consider as long as the convictions are not for serious offenses. So dropped charges wont. You can remove/update the record but it looks like it will happen from appropriate agency (possibly in your case you can contact the same state police dept to help as you might have already interacted with them). Ask them the procedure. I think that they will definitely help you at least in telling the procedure. Then you can take a call if you can do or get some help. I think here system is straight forward and if you are honest then you are good to handle alone. First talk to the police or the court as mentioned as the right agencies to update your final information on your record. Also if you (can arrange to) have the copy of court documents/police documents on dropped charges then it will be helpful to provide to cic in the worst case if they ask. As harrysaini said, you are not supposed to send the one not asked. We dont want to get troubled ourselves. Try for removing/updating the record by the mean time. you can call fbi to know which agency/dept to approach first.

In every instance where criminal arrest fingerprints have previously been submitted to the FBI, it is imperative that the final disposition be submitted to maintain a complete and accurate Criminal History Record.

Dispositions are submitted by criminal justice agencies and posted to the Criminal History Record to ensure accuracy and completeness. Dispositions are submitted to the CJIS Division by:
State Criminal History Repositories
Arresting Agencies (Sheriff’s Offices, Police Departments, State Police, Correctional Facilities)
Courts
Federal Agencies (FBI, Drug Enforcement Agency, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, U.S. Marshals, Immigration and Naturalization Service, etc.)

Thanks. It looks like the processing gap to the current date is shrinking. Hopefully it shrinks to 2 months or less.

Hello!
Can I just print the app form on any paper and fill it up?
I live in the Philippines and there's no fingerprinting consulting firm here. :(
What kind of paper do I need to use for the fingerprint form FD-258?
Can I take them myself? or do I need to have a policeman take it for him to sign the signature of official taking fingerprints?

thanks

Hi! I would like to know how you went about your fingerprinting there in the Philippines. I am considering to have mine taken there since I am going home for the summer. Were you able to submit one to the FBI? Thanks...

The first time I sent my fingerprints to FBI, I had got them done at Chennai Crime branch (SCRB) for Rs.500 per sheet of prints. They suggested I get it on board-paper and I followed their instructions (like a fool). I had paid a total of Rs.1000 to them after roaming around Xerox shops, SBI (across town) and wasting a full day. 5 months later, FBI threw these prints back at my face (not exactly) and asked me to submit a new application with new fees. A total of Rs.1000 (SCRB) and Rs.2400 (36$, two copies request), plus Rs600 (indiapost) for shipping were wasted, not counting the 5months of wait.

(Board-paper is glossier than you could have imagined.)

For a change, I realized it was easier to obtain a PCC for India than it is to get one from FBI. +1 for PSKs.

So this time, I was so pissed, I took my wife's eyetex kajal and did the prints myself. I got printouts of the FD258 form on A4 sheets and A4 bond paper sheets. In 2 hours I was done with 6 sheets of fingerprint forms. Yes, I sent SIX sheets of prints. I was really pissed.

I sent these via speedpost once again, and it reached them in February around 20th. On May 12th CC charged and May 25th, received in India.

Total money spent? Rs.605. The eyetex kajal box costs Rs.5. Yes, you read that right, Rs.5. About 90cents.

I had decided to send a set of prints every few weeks until I received the FBI report and I sent another set of 4 forms in April, and was about to send another set but I received my report. I even bought from eBay.com 50 FD-258 form printouts (originals) for this very purpose. If anyone needs these, I can give it to them for cost-to-cost. I stay in Hyderabad.

Yes, I was badly frustrated, but my frustration led me to success. So guys, stop wasting money and time on people who want to mint your money (including SCRB). And spend your hard earned money on this instead:

I am an Indian. Unfortunately, Indians cannot send their passports outside the country they live in by mail. (They can send it via a person to hand carry it, but not by mail.) I know that some Indians mail it to someone in Canada, and get the visa from CPC-O. So if you are in a hurry do not do what I did. However if you can wait for a month, it is much more safer. (By the way, if the Indian government catches you sending the passport out of the country, it would revoke your passport for 3 to 5 years. There is no mercy.)

I was personally not in a hurry, so I did not mind the delay. All Canadian Consulates do not have the ?? Economic visa Dept ?? -> not sure what it is actually called, that can stamp the PR visa. So you cannot select the consulate to do the stamping, but the country. I told them that I wanted to stamp in the US and the LA Consulate contacted me. By the way, I am on the opposite side of the country, so LA is the furthest from me i.e. I can get into Canada in less than half the distance to LA :).

Dear o_o

I am in the same situation as you. Being an Indian citizen, I have been uncomfortable about sending my passport across international boundaries from the US to Canada for visa stamping. I received an email from CPC-O requesting my passport for visa. I know you requested CPC-O to print your visa in the US. Can you please share what you wrote to the CPC-O initially? How long after you sent an email did you receive a response?
Thanks!
