Dear Experts,

I need a PCC from USA for my PR application, pertaining to which I have few queries & it will be very great to receive your help.

Actually I was in USA for 6 months & 4 days. As, my stay was little more than 6 months can I request CIC to waive the requirement of this PCC?

Secondly, I have stayed in India at three different places for more than 6 months. In this case, do I need 3 different PCCs or only 1 PCC is required? If only single PCC is enough, from where should I obtain it?

Experts, pls pls pls help me out here. Your one help can make my & my dear one's life.

Thanks & Regards.

Hi shrinivas1980,

You would definitely require a FBI PCC since your stay in US was more than months.

From India you would require one one PCC. You can get it from PSK ( passport seva kendra ) or police commissioner.

Can you pls let me know how you received the PCC from FBI ? was it through normal India Post or courier service ?
If courier service then whcih company ?

Hi AndySin007,

FBI sends PCC through first class international mail ( which is the cheapest mail available in the US - I think )

How we receive US PCC in India ? through regular India Post or courier ?

I'm pretty sure they would not accept if you ask for a waiver. But you can always try. But try only after applying for a PCC first because it is taking several months to get one these days.

For Indian PCC, just one is fine, as they check it against the national database. You can get it done at any passport office in India. Go to their website for more info.

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot Greencard. I forgot to mention that I have a Social Security Number of USA. Can this SSN suffice the requirement of PCC-USA?

Any one got the time extension from NDVO? I got my medical on Friday my application for FBI PCC was received only last week.

Also if anyone from Nepal wants to get Finger Print done here is the procedure:

1. Go to the Police Head quarters in Naxal and ask for Chal Chalan Shakha
2. They will write letter to Police Forensic Dept in Samakhusi
3, Get your finger print done.

Guys, nd your help..............! Shocked

Happy to share that 2nd line updated...."Started processing 17th December" hoping soon will get the PCC & meds req...

My worry is i've applied for FBI PCC Nov 10th and till now no response... not even CC charged.. afraid it will take too long and my timelines to send the DOCs to VO may overdue....

Any idea how long it takes normally for FBI PCC? yeah it says 12 weeks but soon I will get that date too...

Thanks...

@induscan: Their website now says 12-14 weeks. Add a few more days if you are located outside of US (for international shipping)

Please help me in understanding the meaning of PCC for every country since the age of 18, where stay is 6 months or more. Does it also means 5.5 months (168 days) as well, because that's also the sixth month or is that the definition says 180 in terms of number of days.

Ideally you should not be worry as you have applied well in advance !!
Medical request,PCC,RPRF comes only after completion of back ground checks !! Normally wont take much time from the 2nd line update but still it depends on VO officer also .
More over NDVO gives 12 weeks (Depends on your luck also, some got only 45 days) dead line for FBI PCC since knowing the delay.
Going by the current trend ,it will take min 13-14 weeks to get it in hand (If delivery address is India, you can add 2 more weeks).
My opinion you are safe(Unless finger print issue).

Understanding is right but PCC request purely depends on Visa Officer.
Good to apply for PCC where ever you have stayed slightly longer.
I am not clear which country you have stayed in .If its U.S.A (for your case chances of asking is very high). Pl apply immediately for safer side as its taking longer time to process.

You will be using the SSN while filling out an application to the FBI. Did that answer your question?
