Vollog, I suggest escalating. Just ask the cust rep that you want to talk to a supervisor. I plan to do so by tomorrow. I escalated over e-mail yesterday and the response was quicker than normal and it said "I have sent this to the processing area for review". This reply was at least different from their standard reply - 8-10 weeks, 8-10 weeks...8-10 weeks.....

Sent my App overnight on friday-- took 1 extra day for them to pick it up --CLARKSBURG, WV must be in the boonies -- I put in an expadite request 3 weeks ahead -- lets see how long they take --

Guys,

Is there any other email other than the below, where we can escalate on the delays ?

do@leo.gov

May be, we should start sending emails so that they take some attention or seriousness.

SO has anyone been able to obtain the FBI clearance in an expedited maner (few weeks)?

Try your luck. I have not been able to send e-mail to that ID. It always bounces back. I get replies from Liasion@leo.gov.

HI Garian4u

I sent mail to them on this email I.D, and i hear back from them today on this very same email adress
You must remove space after Liasion and then after @,
then try sending it.

Hi everybody!!!! I am new to this forum and I am writing to all of you for one reason only.

Please DO NOT lose hope.

I am in Delhi and I sent my fingerprints through Fedex
I got my FBI Clearance today after waiting for 13 weeks.
I do want to give everybody a suggestion though.
You should set up a fedex account for your return envelope from FBI so can avoid getting tortured like I did.
My package was sent by normal mail and it could not be tracked and hence all the tension/torture.

Hi,

I am still waiting for my FBI clearance. I have all the other docs that we need for Stage 2 submission to local office , and the FBI doc is the only one pending
I have been speaking with FBI customer service almost everyday and have emailed them as well ..
Does anyone have any other means of following up ?

I wrote my immigration deadline on the form n the envelope as well as 10th December.
Application reached them on 10th Nov... They still haven't got it in their system as of yesterday
The processing time now is 10-12 weeks now acc to them :(
Is there any way we can get the same expedited ?

Cheers

steve81, when was your request recieved by FBI CJIS? I just spoke to the FBI and I have completed 10 weeks and yet processing hasn't started and the customer rep told me it takes 8-10 weeks !!!!! What if she keeps saying 8-10 weeks till 16, 17 or 18th week? I can't wait till eternity, I will miss the deadline of full document submission.

No Steve, I have the correct e-mail ID (i.e. without the spaces). It is only when you post in this forum, automatically spaces get added. I have got a total of 8 replies till now from the liasion ID. So that is not a problem. But, someone mentioned in this post that there was another ID called "do". I thought that could be used for escalations as "liasion" was giving standard replies. I checked and the same FAQ section of the FBI CJIS Record request website that was earlier saying their e-mail ID as liasion are now mentioning it as "do". But, even after 4 attempts at sending e-mail to "do", I have not succeeded. It keeps bouncing back. While, many forum members have succeeded in getting a reply

Hi Friends,

I had to submit my finger prints 3 times to the FBI. My deadline to submit documents to buffalo is Jan 25. My lawyer is going to submit the documents without the fingerprints. We shall attach copies of the FBI rejection notices, and a copy of the $18 money order to the application.

Hope this helps and good luck!!!

Friends,

At the moment I am in UK. But I am an Indian national and stayed in USA for 3.5 years. I am also waiting for my FBI clearance since last 2 months. My first application reached them on 9th Oct and I sent another on 29th Oct since my first application had mistakes thanks to my Fedex agent who interchanged my FBI and Texas documents. I call FBI at least twice a week and the only answer I get is that they received application on 9th Oct and that it is in process. I was hoping to send my full docs before Christmas. The only thing I am waiting for is FBI PCC. Now I don't think I can make it before Christmas.

Thanks,
amay

Hey, I did my fingerprint 8 months ago, can I use this fingerprint to request FBI clearance now?

Thanks

Can you please give me the customer support number to call to chek on my fingerprint status. I have sent it in the last week of November 2009 and have not recieved any response.

sps

The phone number of FBI CJIS Division is 304-625-2000. If you tell them that you want to check the status of your background check request, they'll transfer you to the right department.

I got my FBI clearance on 1-15, this is the date when customer service said they would mail out, but apparently they mailed it out 3 days earlier for it to get to me on 1-15. Although on the printout, it says released 12-31...so it is really an 8-week waiting time...
