Hi,

My immigration documents are being processed in Buffalo (I live in Canada). When I applied for PR, I sent my documents to Sydney Nova Scotia. Now, I received my medical forms and I am asked to pay "Right of Permanent Resident Fee". Should I send it to Sydney or Buffalo?

Thanks a lot.

Dear Sandz,

No. When u r filling details of ur family member then make sure u write ur name as Principal applicant & ur wife`s as spouse.

Hope this will clear ur confusion.

Hi

My application was received today (signed for by Glen). Does anyone know when its likely that I will hear any news (good or bad) and how I will receive it??

Cheers
Adam

Thanks casayed,

But one thing that has made me confused is:
"All applicants in the Federal Skilled Worker Class must pay their application processing fees to the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) in Sydney Nova Scotia. Do not submit the Right of Permanent Residence fee until it is requested by the Visa Office."
(mentioned in CIC website about RPRF)
???

Thanks in advance for everyone's help.

We see people asking the same question again and again. I thought of starting a new topic with answers to common questions. Please don't post any question on this topic, so that it doesn't get large. If you think something should be addressed, PM me and I will see if I have the answers.
If you see any errors in my posting, PM me and i will modify it.

A great resource for Canadian immigration is the CIC website. www.cic.gc.ca

Try this for FSW category 1 candidates - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG7TOC.asp

Another great resource, you should check out, is http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/resources/manuals/op/op06-eng.pdf

Please note, i am no expert on applying to Canadian immigration but most of the answers to concerns addressed here can be found in other topics in this forum.

Here is a useful job database http://www.canadavisa.com/career_zone/canadian-immigration-job-search.htm

thnx mate

Hi,

I recently sent my application to FSW1. Now, if I get an admission into a PhD program in Canada, can I apply for a student visa? Will my student visa be refused if I have a PR application in process? What will happen to my PR application? Will it be refused in the later stages of processing because I applied for a student visa? Does anyone have an answer to these questions? I will much appreciate your responses.

Inquiry

Hi IE,
I am a dentist, schooled and qualified in Nigeria with 5 years clinical experience. I am planning to apply for the Skilled worker visa.
Since dentistry is a closed occupation in canada, do i still go ahead to apply, after which I'll write exams for accreditation when I get to canada, or would I have to do other jobs(not as a dentist) in canada until I am accredited to practice in canada.
Also, might I be given the visa based on the NOC I entered(dentist) even though I havnt started the accreditation process??

I think every country that issue Student Visa want to ensure that Student will get return to home land after study.

As you have already applied for FSW1 that shows your intention to migration to CA.

Then this might create problem...this what i am thinking .

Mayank

Usually they say, that it doesn't contradict to have 2 applications with different intentions. But PHD takes long time to study, by that time you will have you PR done for sure and it will help you to get job quickly, that might be a + in eyes of officer. All depends on case worker, however you can mention on Cover Letter for you study permit application that you have filed PR application as well and in the mean time you intend to prepare yourself for job market.

if i had an acceptence i would definatly applied for study permit. It's my personal choise though.

Hi! My common-law partner sent our application on June 3 2011 and CIC received it on June 8, 2011... She is a nuclear medicine technologist for 4 years and 9 months. She is planning to resign, would it affect our application negatively? How can we update CIC about the changes? Thank you.
