I wanted to bring your attention to a news release from Minister Kenney's office yesterday:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/releases/2012/2012-04-17.asp

It basically suggests that the new guidelines for FSW applicants about to be released would have a new point system, with emphasis on younger applicants, with high education credentials, and very high reading and writing skills in English. They must also be in NOCs that are in great demand, meaning they can get a job immediately...

Here is my concern, the news release states:

"change would allow new regulations, once approved, to apply retrospectively to people who have already submitted an application. "

This would mean that the new point system and its requirements would apply to all those who have submitted applications in previous years as well, in effect thousands of applications will be denied because they would not qualify. Only the few, with the above mentioned qualifications, will get through.

Me also same boat, last one year ecase shows RBVO. MI-02. It will be their illegal decision. Already CIC have completed assessment about 29 categories. I am confused about cic new rules. What is our future? When will reply from SGVO? Please keep in touch.

I have calculated my points 69. As like

1. Education ( Master's with 17 years) - 25
2. Working experience - More than 4 years -21
3. Age -10
4. IELTS --------------------------------- 09
5. Spouse -------------------------------- 04
Total points 69.
Is it sufficient for new rules? They didn't clear anything. Waiting, waiting............

I dont know it would be sufficient in new rule but mate i think new occupation list has got special requirement for ielts as per occupation demanded. For plumbers minimum score might be low where as for Doctors and other it might be high band...
Warm regards,

For social works how much band required

any idea

Hello Bikki
Your expected time for interview depends on if your field of studies are on the pirioty list or not....It varies from applicants to applicants...

Re: FAQ - LVO completing SELDEC for 10/04 - 26/06/2010 applicants

Its being discussed that currently LVO is reviewing all applications between 10th April & 26th June 2010 and by June 2012 they will complete their SELDEC. Can anyone share his/her views as it is true?

Unni, there are no specific band requirements (likely above 5 atleast) as such for any NOC however pl note that band 6 would be safe for any processing.

I may be judgemental but it looks like that 5.5 or 6 would be ok.
