I will be applying for residency in the next few days through common law spousal sponsorship. In the meantime I am also applying for an extended visa to be extra cautious. Should I do my best to explain i have applied for residency on this application or apply for the extension simply as a visitor. For example it ask for the purpose of my visit. Should i write other and then shortly explain i am applying for residency or shoud i just write visiting?

We extended my husbands stay advising that we are waiting for residency and the birth of our baby. We also included our aor1 and file number as well as sponsorship approval so they know we are well underway(all received in march applied in june). A suggestion is to apply via mail as opposed to online. It takes longer and you have implied status until a decision is made
