Hi!

My partner (the PA) has an OWP through the OWP for Vulnerable Workers program that expires in 28 days, on Feb 21, 2022.

We are working on an inland Spousal/Common-Law PR + OWP application that we intend to submit ASAP, *but* we are waiting on her police certificate from Ireland and it is taking longer than we anticipated and the tracking info isn't very clear.

Since our PR + OWP application needs to wait for the police cert to arrive, I am trying to decide the best course of action in the mean time so we are still ok even if the application is returned to us due to an error in the future. She currently has a full-time job and would like to keep working without interruption.
(I have tried using the search bar and calling IRCC but couldn't get through)

----------The two options I am looking at are: -------------

1. Apply for OWP extension with less than the 30 days before expiry that they say you should have. (I could probably have this sent by tomorrow afternoon, so 27 days before expiry) -----preferable

2. Apply for visitor visa just so she still has status if the PR application is returned. -----backup

Essentially I would like to do option 1 and try for the OWP extension since it seems safer if the PR app is returned, but I'm worried maybe it's too late to apply for the OWP extension or that it will interfere with the PR application somehow.

Thanks in advance!
