Hello everyone.
My NOC is 1121, and I have an experience of a HR executive. I just registered myself in the job bank today but I couldn't find the title of HR executive, so I selected HR coordinator in the experience section of job bank . But my work experience letter says HR executive. Is this fine? Or do I have another option?

Don't worry about the job bank, it is optional now and only 1 in 10 000 get a job through it.
So what you entered is fine.

It's all on the CIC site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp

But...

(Please note that this info does not apply to the Federal Skilled Trades Program)

1) Determine your eligibility by doing this CIC quiz http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp

2) Get your language test(s) done. You must get at least CLB 7 in each of the four sections for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) streams. But getting CLB 10 gives you maximum points for language.

How does CLB match back to the language tests? That info is here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

3) Get your qualifications assessed by doing an Education Credential Assessment. Details here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp

4) Determine the code that best applies to you on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

The occupation must be NOC 0, A, or B for FSW or CEC.

5) When you have those in hand you create your express entry profile. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp and register for the Job Bank http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home-eng.do?lang=eng

You'll be given points based on your age, education, number of years work experience, and language skills. The points system is detailed here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

You'll be in a pool with thousands of other applicants http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/pool.asp

Of course, the more points you have the better. The max is 1200, with 600 of those points coming from your ability to snag a PNP or a job offer with a very hard to get Labour Market Impact Assessment http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp

For CEC applicants, the max is 600 but someone who has no work experience in Canada who is only eligible for FSW can only get up to 520 points.

6) Finally, wait for your invitation to apply (ITA). But in the interim you will need to do the following:

a) Have your application fee (C$550 each for principal applicant and spouse) and right of permanent resident fee (C$490 each for principal applicant and spouse) ready
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp

b) Identify how you will provide proof of funds http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

c) check out what is required for the police certificates http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

d) find out how long it takes to get a date for the medical exam. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

e) contact previous and current employers about them providing job letters. You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week. Work experience while you were a full-time student does not count.

f) research cities in the province(s) where you want to live.

Hi,

Its very useful info. Thanks for publishing it.
I need some more info and would appreciate if you can provide it. My spouse & myself are living in US and would like to apply for Canada PR under Express Entry.
So my questions are;
1. Do we both need to write IELTS?
2. Can any one of us write IELTS & other can apply as a dependent??
3. Some where I read that the education certificates should be attested from college & also should get a letter, in case the applicant is an Indian?
4. My spouse did PG (Masters) in USA. So does she still need to get her certificates attested?

Please help me out on this.

Hi,

1) You cant use your wife's qualifications. The principle applicant must have both IELTS and ECA report before creating a profile.

2) No, the Job bank profile is no longer mandatory.

Regards
Hi,
If i am the principal applicant and have both Ielts and WES ,in that case can i use my wife's qualifications only(to get some extra points) ,she doesn't have any language score.
TIA

Hi,

To qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Program you need to have at least 67 points. You have 68, so you qualify.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp

Your CRS score is low-365, however, if you improve you IELTS score to L8 and 7 in WRS your score will jump to 418 or so, which gives you a good chance next year.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

So I would advise you retake the IELTS test.

All the best
Hi Tanaka,

Thankyou verymuch for the reply

Can I begin the application for the EE and meanwhile try improving the IELTS scores?

Thanks

Hi,
My answers in red
Its very useful info. Thanks for publishing it.
I need some more info and would appreciate if you can provide it. My spouse & myself are living in US and would like to apply for Canada PR under Express Entry.
So my questions are;
1. Do we both need to write IELTS? No, only the primary applicant needs IELTS. However, it is strongly suggested that your spouse also take IELTS and gets ECA to give you additional points on CRS
2. Can any one of us write IELTS & other can apply as a dependent?? Yes, however I would suggest you both take IELTS to maximize your CRS score
3. Some where I read that the education certificates should be attested from college & also should get a letter, in case the applicant is an Indian? No. We got our ECA from WES Canada. We simply put our Indian transcripts which were in a sealed envelope, along with legible copies of degrees (US & India) into a Fedex envelope and send to WES. Transcripts from our US Institution was directly sent to WES by University.
4. My spouse did PG (Masters) in USA. So does she still need to get her certificates attested? No. Simply go to your ECA agency (WES in our case) and follow their instruction.

Please help me out on this.

You could do that. However, your EE profile has a validity of 60 days. If you think you can schedule another IELTS, study for it to improve your score, and get the results (it takes 15 days for result), I think you'll be pushing it to the edge.

Just to keep matters simple. Why not start with IELTS and ECA? You can also use this time to trigger your experience letters and PCC if you are confident of getting a good IELTS score. Doing these steps now will save you a lot of time downstream.

You could. Play around with the CRS calculator to give you an estimate. See the CRS score for following scenarios
1) Your IELTS/ECA
2) Your IELTS/ECA + your wife's IELTS
3) Your IELTS/ECA + your wife's ECA
4) Your IELTS/ECA + your wife's IELTS/ECA [This should give you maximum score]

Let's say in case 1) provides you a point of 480 CRS. Then going by the cut-off trends you can simply submit your IELTS/ECA and save money & effort on your wife's part. But if case 1) provides you 430 CRS, then I would suggest trying case 4) so that your CRS may be 450+

Hope it helps!

Has anyone changed VO for their spouse after PPR?
Did the second letter that they received in their CIC account mention that the VO office is specifically changed for Spouse alone. Or is it addressed to Main applicant?

I have one uncle who is Canadian but works in UAE. However, he travels to Canada regularly, pays his taxes and already bought a flat there. Can I claim the 5 relative points from him or not ?
