Dear Applicants,

As you are aware that high ranked applicants would be drawn from the Express Entry Pool even if they do not have a job offer. Lets network here to understand how many of us are above 400+ and our chances to be drawn in the pool.

I have also created a watsapp group for all members above the score of 400 so that we can network and discuss our plans.

Please PM me your watsapp number and mention your EE score so that I get you added.

Hi,

My score is 406. Do u have any idea what will be the minimum draw ?

My assumptions are it will be 450+, that will pretty much cover CEC, and Applicants with JO or PNP.

In EE pool: CRS 427
IELTS Request
Overall Band: 9.0
My score is 417 and I entered it on the EE google doc.

I hope to increase to 427 before the Jan draw with my wife's ECA, not sure if they will be swamped. They turned mine around in a few days despite their (WES) 20 business day claim back in November. Schools were closed for the break, but my wife's transcripts will go out early next week.

The other way to increase our score is to take the TEF exam, which wasn't necessary for most under the previous programs. I'm looking into this, but there seems to be way less information for the TEF compared to the IELTS. I searched my nearest exam office in San Francisco and they appear to offer 10+ different French exams, but not the TEF. Also I am having trouble finding actual sample full complete exams so I can see what score I might be able to obtain. I am definitely not fluent, but would probably get 1-3 points each in speaking and reading. Listening I'm not sure, I took some sample exercises and the first half was reasonably possible, but the last half was nearly impossible, although I could eliminate a few trick answers in the difficult sections (like when they use words in the conversation that match an answer). But I'd like to get an idea of what score I might obtain. Writing French would be impossible for me, as I don't think I can spell any words correctly, so that would be a zero for me.

My wife would pick us up 2 more points*, plus perhaps I could get 3-7 points. Not sure if $500 for the 2 exams is worth 5-9 extra points. I'll wait and see where the line is drawn in the first few draws to see if I'm near the limit.

*My wife scored 18 out of 20 points on the IELTS, French is her first language so she could likely get the max of 20.

Age 45 points
Education 126 (Master Degree)
Language English 128 (Native, max points)
Language French 0 (I could possibly pick up 3-7 points here, if I can figure this out)
Canada Work 0
Spouse Education 0 (Submitting transcripts to WES for 10 points)
Spouse Language 18 (Took IELTS, and English is her 2nd language, could retake IELTS or take the TEF for possible 2 more points)
Spouse CA work 0
Education+Language 50
Foreign Work 50
Total = 417

Suggestion: Why not someone make a google file to mention all the scores? This way we can see what are the ranges and what is the highest score. Thank you.

Mine is 456. Not sure if it will be enough :-\

I have a feeling that the first draw will be exhausted by those applying under CEC or FSWP with AE. So the cutoff score may even be 1000+ :(

So tricky! As PNP/LMIA holders are cleared, new entries become eligible to come into place. Though I'm not so concerned with LMIA holders, provinces can change the game.

BTW, CEC candidates shouldn't be worried much (Personal opinion), since they usually stand higher than FSW candidates without PNP/LMIA. I could be wrong though!

Do you think the new system has done injustice to pgwp holders.
and also for people who are currently working will not be able to get LMIA. especially people who work for companies, bank etc.?
Views?

Absolutely, I was wondering if we could approach some one in large number to get our voices and concerns heard

There was no CAP for LMIA on FSW. IMHO, I don't think applicants with LMIA will count towards the CAP. Possibly, PNP won't either. There is no Federal limit on the number of Quebec Skilled Workers.. why would they put a limit on other provinces?

I guess the draws will be (for example): top 500 + LMIA + PNP.

Finally, I don't think there will be a lot of PNP applicants on the first draws, only those that have already completed their program on last year.

hey everyone,
today I submitted my application: my overall score is 419... not so quite optimistic about it!
Anyway: did you manage to make the job bank site works? I couldn't insert my work experiences and so on...
Thanks folks!
