Is this the offline process you are talking about? Manitoba offers nominations for people applying through the EE system too.

You could apply for EE (if you satisfy the eligible criteria) but I can't tell you what your chances are of getting invited without knowing your CRS.

Having said that, you having held a US visa or your work experience in the US, IMO, will not add any additional merit other than giving you CRS points if you do claim points for that experience.
Check if you are eligible for EE here -

http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp

Check your CRS here -

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

Thank you so much for your response. I just did my CRS, it's 450. I was not able to claim my working experience in the US however. It's just a general question for foreign working experience. What are my chances with the score 450?

I did an evaluation with EE and passed the evaluation. I did open an account and filled in the information but not yet submit the application, as I'm not sure how it's going to affect my MPNP. I have about 50 days now to decide whether I should submit my registration for EE.

As of MPNP application, I have read online that MPNP applicants who have LAA are not advised to submit EE at the moment. Quoting from Manitoba Immigration site below:

"MPNP applicants who are already nominated should not enter Express Entry as the MPNP will not be able to support this application. Nominated applicants should follow the steps outlined in their Letter of Approval from the MPNP when applying for permanent residence. For applicants nominated through one of the regular MPNP program categories, this includes submitting their permanent resident applications to the Centralized Intake Office, rather than using Express Entry."

I guess this means, if I'm nominated for MPNP in which I have received LAA, I should not apply for EE. I should go through the province stream, and not the federal stream. Do I understand that correctly?

And MPNP is not nominating candidates for EE at the moment, I believe until they select all candidates for MPNP, they will do so. Quoting from their website:

"At this time, the MPNP can only assist candidates who have already submitted a full application to the MPNP and only AFTER their application has been assessed by Manitoba. Once Phase 2 of our Express Entry “sub-stream” is launched, Manitoba will be able to nominate new applicants through this pathway if they qualify for Express Entry. In the meantime, you can determine your eligibility to the MPNP by using our Self-Assessment Worksheet."

Hi ,

Me and my husband are going to file EE after taking IELTS in march. He will be the main applicant and I as dependent.
We are getting 67 score and eligible.I calculated CRS score from CIC and come out to be 450 plus ( considering CLB7 ) is attained if he is main applicant

my query is who should from both of us will get more points in CRS in the pool.

MAIN APPLICANT - BTECH , Masters ( evaluted from WES) and matches. His exp in relevant profile is 4 years and more

Dependent - BTECH , My total exp in relevant NOC is 8.5 years and more.

IELTS will play a bigger role as spouse gets maximum of 5 points if CL8,9 is attained.

Give your advice that who should be main applicant.

Your husband has a Masters Degree AND 3+ years of work experience. I imagine he will be scoring the maximum CRS points between the two of you. If he gets a CLB-9 in IELTS, his score will be well over 450. So, he should be the primary applicant.

Well, I am not really sure about the nuances of the paper based application. But I have made some observations that I'd like to share -

""MPNP applicants who are already nominated should not enter Express Entry as the MPNP will not be able to support this application. Nominated applicants should follow the steps outlined in their Letter of Approval from the MPNP when applying for permanent residence."
From the above quote, I understand that this applies for people who have ALREADY BEEN NOMINATED. So, IF you are nominated via the application you have already lodged, you CANNOT apply via Express Entry. Your understanding is correct.

I recall a Provincial Nominee program that was available for applicants in the EE pool last year. The requirement was the applicant had to have a relative or a friend in the province. I guess they haven't started taking in candidates this year. They might open up their PN program sometime, probably within the first quarter.

Of course, you will be able to claim points towards your private practice. You have to mark your employment as "Self Employed" though!
This is mentioned on the CIC website -

Purpose

To prove each work experience claim and to validate that the applicant meets program requirements
Document requirements

The personalized document checklist in MyCIC prompts the applicant with an upload field for each work experience declared.
At the completeness check, the processing office determines only whether the required documents are included. The validity or fraudulence of the information is assessed only if and when the application is placed into processing.

The following documents are mandatory for each work experience declared:

a reference or experience letter from the employer, which
should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits;
if the applicant is self-employed, articles of incorporation or other evidence of business ownership, evidence of self-employment income, and documentation from third-party individuals indicating the service provided along with payment details (self-declared main duties or affidavits are not acceptable proof of self-employed work experience).

If the work experience is in Canada, proof may include copies of T4 tax information slips and Notices of Assessment issued by the Canada Revenue Agency (the time period for these documents should reflect the work experience timeframe [e.g., work experience from 2006 to 2008 requires only documents from those calendar years]).
Individuals who must submit this documentation

The principal applicant
Their spouse or common-law partner (if work experience in Canada is claimed)
Highlighted in RED above applies to you! You need to provide the documents outlined above (in your post ITA application) to prove your work experience.

Hi,
Looking for some info on EE Profile creation, which might be already discussed in this forum. Please help to address it again.

1. Can we create 2 separate Express Entry Profiles for Husband & wife with using each others info as spouse in their profile creation ?

Myself & Wife, both has valid IELTS Score & ECA done & planning to create Express entry profiles. Considering age difference, my wife has 20 points more than me. If we create two express entry profiles, will it be breaching any of the express entry profile criteria ?

2. Also will the express entry profile can be modified at any date (assuming within 1 year) to add more points such as if we can get any LMIA approved job offers ?

3. If i go there as dependent, can i separately apply for my open work permit before landing to Canada ?

Thanks.

You can have one profile. Also, the PA should be the one that gets the maximum CRS points.

Yes

3. If i go there as dependent, can i separately apply for my open work permit before landing to Canada ?

Assuming you are marked as an accompanying dependent, you can accompany your spouse to Canada. Both of you will get PR status - Both of you are free to pursue any field of work or start a business or study in Canada. Permanent Residents do not require work permits. This is after landing.

A eligibility criteria of a work permit might require your intent of leaving the country at the end of the authorized stay period. This is in direct contradiction with an ongoing PR application. So, I am not very sure about this - May be people who have come across such a case could be of better help.

Thanks.

I need to know one thing. Does CIC counts the experience that is before the education/qualification. I am a teacher I did my masters in 2005 then in 2012 I did another graduation in education and then again completed my 2nd masters in education in 2014. I want to claim experience points from 2013 after my 2nd graduation which got completed in 2012. Can I claim points for 3 years? As many consultants say I do qualify, it is just to ensure.

Hello everyone.
I would request aid from seniors for I'm lost and puzzled.
I've got some work experience
To put it straight 1.5 year falls under NOC 1215 -- Freight forwarding specialist
another 1.9 years goes to 0731 -- managers in transportation for I was promoted to lead a department

How many years for EE score (adaptability) will they count? 1.8 or 3+?
I'm a bit nervous cause I get controversial info.
CRS TOOL asks the question "How many years of skilled foreign work experience do you have? It must have been continuous, paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in only one occupation"

Different NOC=different occupation?
What should I do? Try to procure reference letters that will suit more NOC 0731 or to leave it as it is, 1.5 yrs=NOC1215 and 1.9 yrs=NOC 0731
I've got ITA already and having reported everything as 0731? but I haven't filled post-Ita questionnaire yet so need urgent advice to adjust it. Asivad and others please help!

You can mention 3 + years. Obviously, you cannot claim both under one NOC. You should procure 2 reference letters with all details required by CIC including the appropriate roles and responsibilities.

The "only in one occupation" clause is for the purpose of eligibility alone. As you have at least 1 year continuous work exp under one NOC, you have met that eligibility factor and you can add the rest of the work experience.
