If I understand correctly, your degree will give you the points for degree. But if you need the points to be eligible, you shall take IELTS to score the point.

So between CELPIP and IELTS,which one do u recommend?

I think we'll have to wait for the official launch of Express Entry and all the supporting systems.

Hi guys,im pretty new to this forum.I want to know that if i get a doctorate degree in english then do i have to take an IELTS or CELPIP test?C'mon,its "doctorate".
And with this new EE system will i be able to get some job in a city i want to go and live in or just randomly?I have a family in Abbotsford.

Well in the education pts i only see PhD and Master(or equal) earn the highest pts,so how about Bachelor?

That is point of difference between Australia and Canada.

Probably that will also stay the same way.... ( My opinion )

One point to consider here, as Express Entry is supposed to be similar to Australia EOI, I am wondering how Canada is going assess the eligibility of the job scope in EOI submission. For Australia, even before you submit EOI, you have to get your job scopes assessed by assigned agency, example, Australian Computer Society for both degree and job scope. Only you have positive review, you can submit EOI.

But Canada process is, we need to assess only the degree for submission and the working experience is assessed only when the application reached CIC. If Canada is to adopt full EOI system, does it mean that we are supposed to go for new assessment? Without the prior working experience assessment at EOI submission, there will still be many applications (not eligible) flooded the whole system and which will not help to speed up the process.

Any comments?

You doing the right thing, IELTS is valid for two years , and this will be part of EE , there is no doubt about this point at least .

EE - DOES REQUIRES IELTS - MINIMUM BAND MANDATORY

1) Is there a FSW points calculator that I can use to assess and get an idea ? If you are talking about the existing calculator than it is here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp. Not sure if the same will be used for EE

2) What is the probability that you would get a job offer for IT applicants ? More precisely how is the job market in Canada ? Canadian job market is more or less as competitive as of any other country. Plus there is added hindrance of lack of local experience for international applicants. Getting a job offer while overseas ? very difficult if not impossible. In addition to other factors, employers have to go through a lengthy process to get LMO and that's what most employers don't want. But starting EE and federal government allowing employers to hire through job bank, may be things will change in future.
