Hi all,

I am sponsoring my husband. I am a Canadian citizen already in Canada. We have no kids (either one of us).

I am confused about how to answer Question #3 of the applicant's Generic Application Form. It asks:

"HOW MANY FAMILY MEMBERS, INCLUDING YOU, ARE IN THIS APPLICATION?"

To me, it seems "1" would be the answer since it's just the two of us and I'm already a Canadian in Canada. However, the guide says to "include all family members including spouses regardless of whether they are coming to Canada". So if he counts me, it would be 2... but that seems silly.

And - the number you put here gets added up on #4,5,6 of the Sponsorship Evaluation form. There is already a "1" input into the first box on question 4 of the Sponsorship eval and then it says to add the number from question #3 of the Generic Application. So if I answer "2" for question #3 of the Generic Application form, then my total for the application will add up to "3" which seems crazy, since only one person is being sponsored.

Please clarify. I have asked within my own forum POS and gotten both answers (that I should put "1" and "2") from different people. So I am not quite sure which is correct.

Thanks

It would be 2 people.

I had the same question and I asked around and everyone gave me the same answer. I also had no kids and it's only my hubby that I am sponsoring

So then, on the sponsor questionnaire where you add up the totals of questions 4,5,6.. you had "3" as the total even though you're only sponsoring one person.

i think the answer to your question is 1 as you are already a Canadian citizen and no kids involved.

The answer to this should be 1. Your husband is the ONLY applicant, therefore only 1 person on that question. He would answer questions regarding you on the family composition part of his application. Your sponsor forms should in fact only read 2 people as it is only you and your husband.
