Hello everyone,

Mother has Student Visa & Father has PR, does our child need a VISA to Canada?

After reading the following page, I have the impression that if our child accompanies us without a VISA (but with a valid passport and birth certificate) he will be admitted to Canada.

canadainternational.gc.ca/ united_kingdom-royaume_uni/visas/trav-can_18_voy-can.aspx

P.S: Both parents are Tunisian

Thanks in advance and appreciate the help

If the child doesnt hold a visa-exempt citizenship, it's my understanding that the child will need a TRV. The page you are referring to is nothing to do with visa requirements but is more to do with child protection.

Then a TRV is required and I should probably point out that it may be refused based on the risk of overstay. In which case, you would need to go down the TRP route instead.

So you think we should apply for a TRV VISA for him? Put bank statements and all that.

Honestly not sure what we will do if he gets TRV VISA reject, I think I will abandon the PR and and my wife will quit studying .. its hard to leave my child behind.

See my updated reply.

Did not know of TRP altogether .. hope it could be a backup option if the TRV gets rejected.

Do you think it has a high chance of acceptance if we show a decent bank statement?

THANKS for the helpful tips

For a TRP you would probably need to make a H&C case, which should be successful given the information you have provided. There is a lot of good quality information on the forum about this, so I suggest that you do some research on the subject. Good luck...
