hi guys me and my wife appeared in Etobicoke office for landing for PR as we are in Toronto already working ... we got the COPR on 23rd October 2017 ... the problem we are having is that we have tickets booked for 14th dec purchased in July already ... the wait time is 61 days after landing ... i know we can travel but to return we have to have TD or by land coming from USA in a private car is do ablebut TD getting in time will be tough because no one knows when we will get it after applying it can take months and we arw going for 1 month only as have to rejoin our jobs after vacations... im wondering is there any chances we get PR card by 10th dec as 61 days are completing around 20/22 decemeber thats what cic call center agent told me.. and then few more days to get PR cards by regular mail. She said we might get it in end of Dec or start of Jan 2018 ... if anyone here got there PR CARD before 61 days some friends and family saying 61 days is maximum time so people dont get panic when they dont get it in 4/6 weeks they said normaly it arrives in 4 to 6 weeks only if its true ??? Stuck in a situation either we cancel our tickets and get refund with minor penalty or take a risk until 10th December and lose 4000$ . Dont know what to do ... All the plans are settled back home with family weddings and etc .. just want to know any possibilty of getting PR card before 8 weeks .. i hope we wont get photograph objection.. Stucked

Impossible to predict around Christmas, since so many employees at IRCC start taking vacations around this time. While getting PR card early or right on time is of course possible, I think the more likely scenario is you may not see it until January.

Thanks Rob... yes thats what i was thinking it may get slow because of Christmas time because of vacations plans ... i think the best bet is to refund the tickets but we will loose all of our vacations sadly its hard to take 5 weeks vacations after 1 year from employer but this is it what it is... we can not do anything about this... just hope and even if we get pr card ok time before 14th dec then buting tickets will cost fortune :( sometimes in season the airfares goes high upto 5000$ per ticket round trip which is definately not affordable... lets hope for best... everything happens for a good reason ... thanks for a reply cheers

A PR TD in this case should take well under a month, so that is definitely a possibility if PR card doesn't arrive in time. There is no question at all here about residency obligation, so PR TD processing should be easy for the visa application centre in country you're going to.

Hey Rob Thanks you are awesome ... see hope keep helping you stay stronger and motivated ... yes i agree with you i think PR processing will be easy as everything is already done but as i am going to Pakistan and TD will be issued in Abu Dhabi UAE (Dubai) as all cases of Pakistan are processing in UAE. But i think hopefully still it will be processed in a month this is a good hope. I appreciate your moral support suggestions and help. Thanks a lot ill keep thinking other options too. Regards

It's calendar days - but this doesn't include mailing times. So you should factor in another 1-2 weeks for mailing.

PR card timeline:

Landed:
November 17 , 2017

Questions:
1. When I can expect the PR card I need to book flight?
2. Do they always ask for pictures second time?

1. 70-80 days after you landed. Processing time for the card is 61 days and then you need to factor in extra time for mailing.
2. No - usually they do not ask for pictures. If they ask for new pictures, it will take longer.

Note that you can leave Canada without your PR card.

after you first landed and exited with out PR card, can you also go back with only COPR?
Crossing at land border directly with CBSA, sure it's no problem with just COPR.

However if flying, you won't be allowed boarding on a flight to Canada without a valid PR card or PR Travel Document.

Is that your initial PR card? That means you got it in 40 days? At which province did you landed? I landed on March 31, until now I haven't received my pr card.
