You do NOT need a visa for Italy with ur RTD for short stays (tourism, visit, etc.), you can stay up to 90 days within 180 days

Yes you can. I just returned from Italy with RTD. My PR is still under process
Hi. Please when you went to Italy, did you get a direct flight or you had a transit. I booked air france. Now I am worried if I can transit through Europe without a visa.
I went through Germany with Lufthansa visa free without issue. You are going to need a transit visa if you have a layover at CDG.
I visited Italy multiple times transiting through Frankfurt no issue at all but if you are transiting through France make sure transit time should be short for long transit time you will not be allowed to leave airport in France.
One more point if you have PR Card and and valid travel document you can transit through any European airport.
If your connection requires you to enter the Schengen Area ( France, spain, or changing airports), you may need a Schengen visa but German, Italy don't required visa.
I am a protected person holding a RTD, I had a flight today from Toronto to Budapest , transiting through Munich. I have been denied to flight they asked for PR card and i said i don't have it. I have my notice of decision and work permit but she said there is a new policy came effective 4 days ago, i was refused for flight. Does anyone knows if this is a mistake or what?
Google says and german consulate says there is no visa. There must be mistake or send an email to Hungary consulate. Good luck
