Entering canada After PR expiry!!! please help me out

Hello everyone
my PR expires on july 5th and im leaving the country on july 4th and i will return to Canada in September, and i have already filled all the forms and applied for PR renewal,
the question is can i come back to canada with my expired PR (although the PR renewal is in process) or not

you might have applied it in urgent processing. you can not enter with expired pr card instead you can apply for a prtd to come back

Are you flying or driving back to Canada?
If flying, then only if you're a US citizen can you fly back on your US-passport alone and don't need PR card. If you're not a US citizen, you will need a PR Travel Document in order to fly back.

If driving back, you don't need a PR TD or valid PR card. Just your passport and expired PR card are fine, and CBSA can easily check your valid PR status on the spot. Hopefully you meet the residency obligation.

With expired PR you can come back to Canada from USA border by road but in your own or rented vehicle.

hi I have expired PR card of Canada and I applied for its renewal in Aug 2015 but due to urgency I traveled outside Canada before getting new PR card. I also have valid US visa and I know I can travel back to Canada by land through my private car via usa. my point of concern is that.
1) Do I have to take return ticket to enter usa or one way ticket to usa is fine?
2) Do at the time of arrival in usa, I have to declare transiting usa or staying in usa for couple of days, at the time of immigration?
3) Will the usa authorities allow me to enter in usa, if I have expired Canadian PR card and declare I am only transiting usa but will go to Canada by land on private car.

1) Why do you have to pay tickets to enter USA by your private car? Is it because you need to board a ferry?
2) You will have to declare how long you intend to stay in the US

1) (I think that s/he wants to fly to the US from another country and then drive back to Canada) If you fly to the US, a one-way ticket might cause problems at the border. Technically, there is no legal requirement to have a return ticket, but it can cause problems. If you drove to the US, no one would expect you to have any kind of ticket, of course.

One workaround regarding item 1) is this: Buy a flight to the US (e.g. JFK airport) and then buy a bus ticket to Canada (e.g. Toronto). The bus ticket will be like $30 or something, so no big deal. You can use that bus ticket as your proof of onward journey. You won't be able to use the bus ticket (since you don't have a PR card) but it is a good piece of documentation to have to prove to the US border official that you will actually leave the US soon.
Another option is to have a car rental contract that shows a one-way rental from New York to Toronto.

Obviously, replace the cities above as needed. Also works for Seattle/Vancouver or whatever.
