Enter Canada as visitor while PR in progress?

Hi!
I’d like to know if some of you did enter Canada recently as a visitor while your PR application was in process. In the hope of following my Canadian partner returning back home when my PR is still pending (just waiting for the PPR now but the delays seem just infinite).

From France. Normally we just need an eTA.

Multiple cases here, sure others will chime in. Need proof of immediate family relationship and quarantine/covid related rules. No serious indications that they are being more strict than prior to covid with respect to those entering with pending PR apps - just don't arrive with all of your worldly belongings.
