If my parents are supporting me (and their employment letters have been obtained), DO I HAVE to submit mine as well? (admitted into MBA program, so my SOP + study permit application will state I'm working, but do I have prove this with a letter?)

you don't have to provide your employment letter.. but you need to fill your gap .. i mean you have to provide experience letter to fill the gap..

thanks for replying.

will mentioning work in the application form + details in SOP be enough to prove no gap?

if not, what is the different b/w an experience letter and an employment letter?

Quoted from the Pakistani checklist, (http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/pakistan/study-etudie/study_permit-permis_etudes.aspx?lang=eng&view=d)

Proof of employment for yourself or your parents.

Even though I won't actually be applying form PK :S

anyway, I hope providing finances and parents (who are sponsors) emp details will be enough

So basically it's VO specific...

It is also good that you put your own Letter of employment and statement of account if you are working, it explains the gap in your education.if you have included it in your SOP its fine, then show them the evidence.

It is definitely VO specific.

My questions is, IS IT MANDATORY to show MY experience letter if I am not even sponsoring myself?

Actually my questions really is, WILL THEY ASK FOR IT? I'm applying online and initially they require very few documents to start the application, they ask you for what they need later on. Since I will clearly mark on my forum that my father will pay the expenses, and send them HIS employment letter later on, will they still ask for my letter? What do you guy reckon?

How long has it been since you graduated? If it's more than 6 months, you must show your experience. You can show your offer letter if you dont have exp certificate. But you must otherwise how are you going to justify career void (gap)? It's not about sponsorship; it's about justifying your career gap.

I did internships at multiple places. I CAN get letters from those places (although it'll be a pain) but the thing is having so many internships letters will make the VO think that I had issues finding work in the country (which is kind of true) and I'm just running off to Canada cuz I could not find a job here (which is NOT true - A North-American MBA was always the end goal). However it'll make the VO bias against me, even though with the current economy the way it is, being unemployed is more common than not. I just don't want that to jeopardize my study permit.

Showing multiple emp/internship letters is a way better proposition than not showing them at all. And it's upto you how you defend it.
