I was going to submit my PR card renewal application tomorrow, until I read this thread! Now I am basically acting as if I have gone to second review already! I have 880 days of residency within the past 4 years and a half. The problem is my two years of absence were in Kuwait, and based on my understanding if your absence is in a Middle Eastern country, you can almost guarantee extra scrutiny! I was looking at the checklist and I was like "hmmmm this is overly easy". Now I am looking for my phone bill from June, 2014!

Besides passport copy and exit records, anyone required to submit additional documents to support their residency? Do they ask for 5 years or just 2 years?

I didn't keep too many documents for the first 3 years, but rather I kept quite a bit for the later 2 years. And my later 2 years are enough for 730 days.

Do you think it's a good idea to submit residency documents for the later 2 years with my application, rather than wait CIC to request supporting document for the whole 5 years.

Thanks!

I think it’s better to submit 2 year documentation plus whatever little you have to the 3 year period.
Also I have observed that, if you submit all these, plus passport pages all colour copy plus exit entry report upfront then there is higher probability of getting processed as per the IRCC mentioned time frame.

Submit copies of all passport used during five years including translation + entry exit +cra tax assessment.better to give more documents than less. I had 740 days and I spent lot of time in Middle East

Thanks. Also, I have some temporary address which I didn't sign a tenancy agreement because it's my friend's house. Will this be a problem?

You can have a tenancy contract with your friend. That shouldn’t be a problem I think.

I didn't sign any contract with my friend when I was there. Now he has moved away, and hard to contact him :(
Can I instead show the utility bills and rent e-transfer record?

No news. My wife sent a web inquiry about her PR card renewal and they said that they had received all the documents which they had asked for and that the application is in process. My feeling is that they have us in a queue and they have not got around to reviewing information sent to them after the secondary review.

Do keep updating your status on this tread so that others can remain hopeful.
