thanks,
GH

According to the reports of some of the people in practice is already enforced based on the RQs people get when they show additional trips before the test, but officially not yet.

Its easier to say pick one. Make a choice whether you want citizenship or relevant job . Both are a necessity.

Since when Canadian citizenship is a necessity?

@screech,
Ok not necessity but are equally important.

Thats all you had to say about the terrific options.

Yes options you have to make, good or bad. You can't have both choices. You have to choose citizenship or job overseas unfortunately.

So is somebody (CIC) going to cover the costs due to lost income from lost opportunities.

Ha ha ha. Thanks for the laugh. I needed that.

So it is CiC's fault that the applicant lost a job in canada and is preventing the applicant from leaving to take the job. Good luck with that in court.

You didnt get that right. It was a rhetorical statement to point to the process which has a real potential to cause a lot of suffering for the applicants under the new process.

Yes, that's what I have thinking, anyone who landed before the Law were not aware of this Rule. So it's completely unfair who landed prior Rule coming in effect. I plan to call them and ask them soon and update what they have to say again

I did called CIC and agent I spoke to doesn't seem to have creditable information. But unusually, he sounded very very confident. This is what he said to me:

1. Though theoretically Bill C24 could be imposed anytime after 30 days notice period its highly unlikely that it will be before July/August 2015. His argument was there is lot of preparation or background work that needs to be completed before CIC could impose the rule (Though I did not cross-question him on this, how does he know at what stage CIC is in terms of background preparation. I am certain CIC agents do NOT have this information).

2. He asked me when I became PR or my PR application is still in process? Then, he argued that this new rule will be applicable ONLY to those who becomes PR after rule comes into force. This is very contrary to what I have been hearing on this form. However his logic was, when all those people who got PR before law will be enforced, knew that they need only 3 years after PR to get citizenship. That's why they chose to come to Canada because, it allows to get Citizenship quickly. If we impose the rule on them, certainly its unfair to them. Going ahead he said "rest assure we definitely cannot impose it on guys who became PR before June 2014 as they were NOT even aware that such rule is going to be enforced". I just hanged up after thanking him.

I am posting it here just for the info, though I do not personally believe, it what I heard. Any thoughts guys?

If applying for canadian citizenship and process is so suffering, why bother applying.

I guess that's the only reason which makes in practice the Canadian citizenship more valuable, hence more lost opportunities for those who will wait here in Canada, locked in like in a jail in order to get what they deserve.

Thats a good one. Why apply, when somebody can simply stay illegally here.

It will take effect on 19th June, 2015.

Is that guess coming again from "informed" call centre clerk? Why you guys keep on wasting time calling those people. They keep on saying different months and dates.

I just don't see how getting waiting for citizenship can be such a suffering experience. Are you starving? Are you deprived of a roof over your head (homeless). Is the border agent physically stopping you from leaving Canada for an oversea job? Just got a problem with people saying a potential suffering like it is the end of the world if you can't get canadian citizenship.

Yes lets say that to nearly 300,000 applicants who are in queue and close their citizenship application files, just like what was done in 2008 for PR applications. Not the end of the world ofcourse and the backlog will be clear instantly. True even the comatose person has something to look for, so no its not the end of the world.
