Effective date of Bill C24

I have seen in other forum, the effective date of Bill C24 is July 19th 2015. I.e anyone will apply before this date, he has to meet 1095 days as basic or physical residence. One of my friend, called CIC, and was told that the effective date is June 19th 2015 which is one year from the Bill 24 release date"June 19th 2014".

My question which date is correct July 19th 2015 or June 19 2015?

Also, if you guys getting this information from CIC customer service, why CIC did not put this information in the CIC site? Does it mean this date is still tentative date yet?

Thanks for your support.

When I've talked with the agents, they told me that if my application is in the office on June 30th 2015, it will be processed according to the old residence rule 3 out of 4 years. So that means that the date is going to be from July onward.

Some agents have more knowledge than others.

I also have an impression that some experienced agents know the effective date.

I'm not going to be surprised if on Canada Day 2015 they would let the people know officially that the rule for the new residence requirement is already enforced from 1st of July 2015.

Thanks a lot MUFC..

So Neither July nor June 19th was not correct. It could be starting from Canada day as you mentioned.

One more question, I came canada Dec2010 on a work permit, and received my PR OCT 2012. My work required me to travel a lot, so far I made more than 60 trips to US, based on the resodence calculator I should meet both basic / physical (1095 days) by July 1st 2015.

My questions, my CBSA report contains long list of entries, does this will affect my application? What should I do to strength my case in front of CIC? I am trying to avoid RQ as much as I can, any advise?

Thanks a lot...

Any attempt to give an exact date for the effective day is a pure speculation b4 CIC announce it officially.
So far "seems" the date will be one day in the slot of June~July, 2015.

I was told today again that the 4 out of 6 rule is expected to be implemented during the second half of 2015 and no residence calculations change is planned until the end of June 2015.

The official effective date regarding residency requirement would likely lie somewhere between June 19th 2015 (1 year after Bill C-24 passed into law on June 19th 2014) and July 1st 2015. It is all speculation until CIC officially announces the effective date.

It looks like CIC are not in hurry to let the people know officially.

For me the date is leaning to 1st of July /2015. The first day of a month is a date the lawmakers like to use and for that reason on 19 June this year they have used the word Approximately after one year.

It doesn't make sense the law to be implemented on 19 June/2015, otherwise the official statement would be "it will be enforced after one year" but instead of that they say officially "It will be enforced approximately after one year".

It is true that it makes more sense to have it fall on july 1st. However keep in mind, other law effective date doesn't make sense either.

April 19. Effective birth cutoff date for those born outside Canada to pass on Canadian citizenship by descent.

Oct 25: The PR 2 year conditional clause.

So it can happen that the effective date can happen on June 19.

My observations are that the implementation dates when something is seriously overhauled are the first of a month.

Why do you think that it will never implement the 4 out of 6 year residency rule? The 1st phase, the fee increase when into effect right away. The 2nd phase of the citizenship law has come into effect as of Aug 1st, revamping of administration / process system. It is only a matter of time before the last phase of the new 4 out of 6 to come into effect.

What do you mean by the 2nd phase of the citizenship law has come into effect as of Aug 1st? Like what are the rules that are already in effect? I would appreciate examples. Thank you so much.
