ECA
IELTs
10 years experience
Mechanical Engineer
more than enough funds
age 32
So what's wrong, why it's eneligible?

Hi Ahmed,

I got the same issue when i created my profile first.
It has to do with "number of academic years". You may have mentioned 4 or something,
you need to mention the total number of years you have studied

Elementary/Primary School : 7
Secondary/High School : 5
University College: 4
Masters : 1 or 2
Total : 7+5+4 ( + 1 or 2) = 16 (17 or 18)

When i created my profile based on this calculation the second time, i got through.

Acordding to this http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp
  • 23 points : University degree at the Master’s level or equalFootnote 2 OR University level entry-to-practice professional degree (or equalFootnote 2). Occupation related to the degree must be:
NOC 2011 Skill Level A, and
licensed by a provincial regulatory body.
Note: Degree program must be in one of these fields of study: Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Podiatry, Optometry, Law, Chiropractic Medicine, or Pharmacy.
  • 22 points : Two or more Canadian post-secondary degrees or diplomas or equalFootnote 2 (at least one must be for a program of at least three years)
  • 21 points : Canadian post-secondary degree or diploma for a program of three years or longer, or equalFootnote

I did put 17 years education but still ineligible :(

As per my contention, you are applying yo FSW program in EE and for that you should have atleast 67 points as per the already existing criteria in addition to CRS score.

I guess you are not able to get 67 points here and hence eligible.

Ahmed,

I think you will have to check if you have the 67 points. The entry must be 4 years and not 16(or 17). My apologies.

I'm also ineligible for no reason I can find. I do not have an ECA, but it says very clearly in the FAQ that an ECA is not required for Canadian Experience Class. I have lived and worked in Canada for almost 4 years under NOC 2171.

I think it's a bug. I tried 4 different variations on my application, changing small things that were subject to interpretation, but no luck.

I suspect the system makes an ECA mandatory, regardless of which class you are in.

Hi Danforth,
Can you please help me, I don't get options for entering my ECA result I tried several times by wiping out my education section completly and re-entering it but never got
this ECA question :( Please can you guide me further, if necessary I can email you my entire screens.
Thanks

Hi TrackIT,

whats the issue? Have you filled the "Studies and Language" section?

It asks for ECA there. You must enter all the degrees that you have gotten assessed in this screen.

In the last question where it asks if XYZ was awarded a canadian degree, diploma or certificate?

Only if you answer NO to that, it will then create a new option and ask you for assessment details.

I found the mistake, my points are 65 only.
I need either to get 0.5 more in IELTS or to get married to get more points.
Which one is esier in your opinion? :)

Hahahaha,

Definitely the 0.5 in IELTS is the lesser evil :)

Hey guys,

I don't think they consider canada job offer for the eligibility

Age : 28
IELTS R 8, L 8.5, W 7, S 6.5 (October 2014)
Work Exp : 6.5 years
WES ECA Done : 4 Years Bachelor's Degree + 1 year Master degree

NOC 2132
Funds : 40K CAD
Canada job offer : NO

My result showed I am eligible. Not sure what is the factor. I have submitted my profile in EE already.

My total points are 391 as i live outside canada, no job offer and no provincial nomination. Not sure how i am gonna get all these to boost my profile.

So folks don't stop applying if you do not have a canada job offer. Hope this helps.

Aravind

Hi Arvind,

Same here i got 390 points and no job offer or no nomination.
Age: 27
5yrs exp outside canada
IELTS: L/R/S/W - 8.5/8/7/6.5
WES done.
NOC: 2173
Funds: 13K CAD

I created a profile yesterday and after creating i got a message from CIC. I downloaded that in pdf and at the end of the file in a box it says that "You must get confirmation of your nomination, register for Job Bank, or update your profile with a valid job offer within 30 days. If you do not, your Express Entry profile will expire and you will not be considered for permanent residence in Canada."

What does it mean?? Any idea?

There is a job seeker code in your msg and a link.you have to register in job bank by them.then your "application status" will "open."
